I hope you all don't mind if I drop back in each time I remember something I think may be valuable. I searched for recent testimonials and patient experiences from those who had kidney cancer before I started the treatment, but did not find very much. It is my hope that I can be an "up-to-date" and continuing voice. My memory of the experience is fleeting but I would like to post as much as possible while I can remember.

So, I forgot to mention the mood swings...
As you can see, I am forgetting about my side affects already, since they didn't last long. After my release from the hospital, I had an angry thought and ran with it mentally. I immediately realized this was a side effect and just stopped. I didn't do anything special, I just stopped thinking Wicked Witch of the West thoughts (thoughts of chewing my husband out for some perceived misdeed) and did a little deep breathing to calm myself. I had a few more mean thoughts over the next couple of days and stopped those in their tracks, as well.

Keep posting Phoenix. I know that I for one am less clear on many details of my rcc experience as time goes on. I should have written a journal. I guess this site provides the same purpose.

    Journal, blog, diary
It does, Fox. That's why it's such a pity it doesn't offer just a little more structure so that we can more easily access material. If we had permanent pigeon-holes for recording info. we'd know where to go in the archive to dig out helpful stuff from the past.
