Thanks to everyone for the good thoughts and prayers! Just wanted to let you all know the docs have decided to biopsy both nodes! My appt is on June 5! I go from wishing the days away to saying I don't want to go! lol Believe it or not I got my pet scan done on a Monday and by the next day the nurse was calling me with the results! Now I could let myself say that might be a bad sign they are in a hurry but I am refusing to allow that thought! Please make room on that pink bus!

    My dear friend
Like Jean, I was thinking about you recently and saw your post. I have been doing all the things I can think of (prayers, positive thoughts, wishing...) I do hope it helps.

June 5 is marked on my calendar. I'll be there, in the front of the bus with my new favorite thing - those frozen slushy wine cooler in a juice bag things and chocolate. Maybe some Belgian Waffles in your honor.

Big hugs and so much love,

    Sue

    So much
Linda, you have been through so much! I do admire you so and you have such a wonderful attitude always helping others.
I too just discovered a hard bump under my arm and pray it isn't a node since surgery was only 3 weeks ago.
Since you're so supportive of all of us, I'd just like to let you know I think you're one very brave Warrior!!!

    Hope Your Biopsy Is Negative!

    Hi Waffle8,

I don't exactly know what you are going through, but my prayers are with you. I have asthma, sarcoidosis(which is inflammation of the lymph nodes and parts of the body). Now stage 2 breast cancer-IDC. My lymph node under my arm was swollen at the time of biopsy, but came back clear. Right now my throat hurts and is irritated (too much air conditioning)had tonsilectomy last year at 46 years old. Just be positive, say your prayers, and relax. Go have fun while you are waiting. Know that your pink sisters have your back. Please let us know how you are doing?

    Peace,Blessing, Hugs, & Laughter,
    Stacey

    The pathology after my
The pathology after my bilateral/axillary dissection showed that 12 of 14 nodes were positive. In fact, my cancer was found because of swelling in my armpit, not because of changes in breast. A year later I had a local recurrence and was dx'd with mets to the lymph nodes between my lungs at that time. The mets would not have been found if not for additional tests done with the local recurrence. The mets by themselves cause no symptoms.

All of the symptoms and issues I have (fatigue and neuropathy) are a result of the treatments, not the cancer. I have been on chemo for 8 months now. I started with Xeloda for 2 months, it didn't work for me. So we switched to weekly Abraxane, I've done 6 months of that, it's keeping the cancer stable.

I truly hope the swelling is something else. Our lymph systems help to fight all kinds of infection and inflammation, so there is every possibility that it is not cancer. I know the waiting is hard, but we'll be here with you. Please let us know what's happening.

    Hugs,

    Linda

    biopsy
Wow what a ride on that pink bus! Went for biopsy doc was only able to do the neck nodes but praise God they were benign! If I could whine just for a minute the biopsy felt like she was digging in my neck with a fork! I told her she was a pain in the neck! lol Will now move on to see an onco/surgeon to find out about pelvis node! Thankful for all your prayers and good wishes!

    Waiting
    Hi,

Having negative lymph nodes when diagnose doesn't guarantee that a recurrence won't ever happen. I would think the one in the neck (soft tissue) might be easier to do a biopsy on than on your pelvis (bone).

No one likes the waiting and no one wants a recurrence. Please keep us posted.

I am 17+ years from diagnose, (13 years since my first recurrence) and mine are in the lungs, lining, ribs. Doable. Waiting is the hardest aspect of having a breast cancer diagnose. Once you know and have a plan it makes it easier.

    Best to you,

    Doris

    Biopsy of lymph nodes
I had swollen lymph nodes in my neck. Later my internist found a swollen one in my left lung field. I was going to have a biopsy of those in my chest area followed by the ones in my neck; however, after discovering a recurrence of breast cancer that metastasized to the lymph nodes in my chest area, the surgeons decided to leave my neck alone.

when I noticed your name not on the Hershey list, I thought about you. Now to read what you've been going through, explains a lot. I'm so glad the biopsy of neck vein was begnign and hoping the pelvic one is too. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Yes, after 6 chemo treatments and 6 weeks of rads I had mets to the sentinel node in my chest. Surgeon did a testing of it to be sure, once it was confirmed I had more chemo and more rads...that was way back in 1998 and I was fine until 2007 when I had an early bc in the unaffected breast (unrelated to first two cancers). So I guess what I am saying is yes it is scary as the dickens but it can be manageable! Hugs to you, let us know how things go.
