    Wonderful news!!
So glad all is well and you are on the mend Barbebarb. This is no cake walk but you have this surgery behind you now and healing on the way. Walking is good...real good. Just don't try to overdue it. Take things slow. Your body has been thru alot. Breathing exercises are also a good source for therapy as well as pain. It brings oxygen into the blood that helps with pain. If you need to take meds.....ask. You don't want alot of pain to interfere with your moving and breathing. Glad you have a wonderful support team too. Mom will make sure a tight ship is run, I am sure. God bless and stay strong. Also FYI...narcotic pain meds also can give you constipation so make sure you ask doc for a stool softener. Natural Calm is a magnesium powder that you mix with hot water. It works wonders and you don't have to worry about chemicals...it's all natural. It comes in flavors and is available at most health or vitamin stores. Healing thoughts coming your way!! Cheryl

    Walk thru the park
    Hi everyone:
Been resting-one chest tube pulled-epiduril and Toradol have helped w/pain management!
Yesterday, my oncologist was seeing a patient on this floor and stopped in to say hi to me. Thought that was nice of her. :-) slept better last night and will prob go home Sun. Been taking my Seneca S, thank u-hoping that transition will be easy.
Helps so much knowing others offer support and knowing
ow how it feels to go thru this type of surgery.(I would never wish it upon anyone)
Looking forward to healing and hoping stairs in my home will be manageable.
Prayers and peace to u friends - a volunteer just brought me a puzzle to put together. Lol

    Hola
It is grt news Lori, the best I have received so far, but I must wait for the original pathology to arrive. So the pulmonologist says. Mom is making lunch, "u must eat every 2 hrs, n I'm gonna make sure u do.." She tells me... Must go n eat green plantains..

    chat later

    Hola a todos
How is evryone doing? Me! Well..... Went to the doc on wed n was kindly informed that " Ms. Marcia, It sounds like u still have liquids in ur lung! We need to do another Xray to find out." I'm like " ok, I'll go downstairs n do it now, then u can check n make sure I dont have liquid in my lung. By the way, y u think I might still have liquids in my lung, I'm coughing up A LOT, cant even speak to ppl w/o coughing." the turns n says " the cough is not normal, it's a very dry cough. I'm concerned." "So if u r concerned have me do the Xray right now" I tell him... But I have to wait till monday when I c my surgeon. Then he tells me " if u do have liquids, ur surgeon will insert a needle thru ur chest......." then i passed out!!! Couldn't bare to hear about more pain! By the way, ladies, when can I wear a bra again..??

I hope that the fluid will be out by Monday, I know I wouldn't want to go through the withdraw of the fluid, but I'm sure they would give you pain medicine. I didn't wear a bra for about a month, in which, I went back to work and needed to. It was very freeing. I wish you well. Lori

    Lung cancer
Hi, my name is Becky. I had surgery for left lung cancer in Aug of 2011. I was in hosp for 9 days. My pain also was bad. But meds helped. I was out of work for 4 months. The 3rd month i developed an infection beyond my lung. A drain was put in for 2 wks. I am so grateful to my surgeon for saving my life. I also have had CT scans every 3 months. So far so good. next CT scan in June. I am still in pain with my rib. Still on 2 pain pills, My job requiers alot of lifting so rib not able to heal the right way. Doc said to expect rib to hurt for a year.Hope all goes well for u! am praying for u!

    Hola
    Hi everyone

Hey Becky, i understand ur pain... I was only in the hospital for 2 days cause i can't count the days of surgery n discharge dates. Was kicked out early..
Stitch came out on monday n was informed that I have stitches in the inside of my opening!!! I was shocked... But i also didnt do much research on th VAS surgery like I would have normally would do on things, I was affraid of the findings. Surgeon said " u r a very lucky woman, ur cancer is stage 1A Endocarcinoma, we surgeons rarely find this type of cancer at it's begining stage. i believe u r my first patient since I started surgery, usually I find it at stage 2B or more advance... u R VERY LUCKY!!!!.." I guess I am lucky that I went to the ER w/ thoughts of appendicitis on a late December 2011 n a CT Scan was performed.. I thnk God every day. Now i will b monitored every 6 month b/c I have a small nodule on my right lung.

Now, I don't know if any of u have this problem like me, I haven't been able to sneeze!!! Is this normal?

    Prayers for all
    Marcia
