    Scans, then hit the road
I am having my post-chemo scans in the morning (Friday) -- CT scan of chest and then MRI of abdomen and pelvis.

I won't see my doctor till next Wednesday to get the results, so I look at this weekend as one in which I should live it up in case the chemo did not work and I have to have more treatment in the near future.

So hitting the road for the weekend with my husband and the pups after the three scans -- need the distraction from the wait on scan results. We will see all the roadside spring wildflowers on the way south and will end up visiting friends and going out to dinner and to a party on Saturday. Home on Sunday. Mini vacation.

    Chemo coma
I would hibernate during my chemo comas. I would lay on my bed and gaze out the window for hours ( of course this was in between the relentless running to the bathroom), I think I memorized every leaf on the tree until they all fell off. I was very lucky that our son lives right next door so I was constantly checked on - most times I could hear my grand babies feet ( ages 8 and12) very quietly walking to the bedroom door and pause and quietly ask, Nannie you ok? I knew each time I heard their voice that I could not do what I felt like doing which was find a peaceful spot in my head and stay there. We would share my room temperature drinks and snacks and they would make me smile. Their small hands would rub mine.

I am glad you have your children there and especially a new baby....what fun. But I suspect from your picture you have a wonderful companion that never leaves your side...puppy dog kisses are almost as healing as grand baby kisses!

I hope you have a peaceful weekend.

    Hi Pepe
Sunday I am holding a small celebration, for 1 (me!)...lol

This year April fools day (April 1) brings me something I have been hoping and praying for for some time...I will finally have health insurance again!!!!

Since I will turn 65 in April, my Medicare and supplemental health insurance coverage is effective April 1. And thankfully neither has a pre-existing condition clause.

So come what may health wise, I won't go broke trying to take care of it!!

For those having a more traditional weekend of fun and folly, enjoy.

    Hugs to all,

    Marie who loves kitties

Gonna have lots of food, and family, and toddlers running around, and my dad hired a man who comes and plays "oldies" Frank Sinatra and such...it's a pot luck luncheon (gotta lova family I have one older sister who said she'd bring the beer and wine!!! You're kidding right??? to a dimentia floor of a nursing home??? Noooooo!!!) Then she says well dad wants wine....okay if you wanna sneak in one bottle....whatever....remember moms on meds so she's in a happy place you don't wanna mess with that. Anyhooooo...have a good weekend everyone.

    chemo weekend
the mention of chemo coma kind of makes me sad... but it also makes me laugh. I had three days of chemo this week. Was able to work Monday and Thursday... but today the chemo kicked my butt big time. Watch a movie today, read some and wrote some.

This cancer battle has opened my mind to so many things. I hate cancer so much, but i am finding peace with this and learning how much more i want to do.

Worked on my 'bucket list' last weekend, and plan to write more and read more this weekend. Oh yeah... NCAA hoops with my three sons and my daughter and wife. That will be fun to hang together and have lots of munchines... and room temperature drinks.

visit my Caring Bridge blog site for some of my writings:

my best to everyone here. It's been a very hard month for me, and i certainly am looking forward to April!!

We are going to the Sarasota
We are going to the Sarasota Seafood Festival, on Saturday and to a car cruise/flea market on Sunday. The proceeds going to buy a building to turn into a counseling/respite area for returning soldiers. It is located in a very peaceful area that was a former rv park. so has many amenities. The woman who started this, lost a son in Afghanistan. This is being done in his memory. I am hoping for a good turnout. Keep your fingers crossed that she raises enough money!
Have a wonderful week end everyone.

helped daughter do antarctica project and watched harry potter
i hope everyone has a great weekend,

only 50 pages to go and i finish "slow death by rubber duck" a balanced yarn if ever their was one.

i think big pharma learnt sometricks from big chemical.

lucky big government is setting the ethical standards, otherwise we would have more than our cancers to worry about. what world have we left for our kids and loved ones.

    hugs,
    pete
