Propolis

Bee propolis has significant and varied anti-cancer benefits, some of which will surprise many orthodox experts. Overall, research has indicated benefits in each of the following areas of the cancer process:
Anti-inflammatory
Anti-viral; anti-yeast (candida albicans)
Wound Healing
Immune stimulant
Free radical scavenging
DNA protection
Anti-tumour effect
Cancer cell death
Anti-metastatic activity.
Furthermore, it has been shown to enhance the benefits of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, having a protective effect on healthy cells and an enhancing effect on chemotherapy action.

I thought maybe some of you interested in alternative treatments will find this info helpful. I'm drinking propolis extract for over a week now (I've done it in the past too)and it helps me a lot. It is easy to prepare at home and not expensive.

    Yes, have seen Confirmations ...

    Thanks, Bea-Mil.

In research on supplements six months ago, I saw several confirmations in Balch and other researchers that bee pollen is a rich source of nutrient particularly helpful during radiation.

Then I noticed, when checking ingredients in my prescribed morning beverage, a glass of Pro-Greens, that it has a healthy dose of propolis--as well as chlorella, which most Japanese citizens are now taking daily and that Dr. Serban Schrieber's own nutritionist highly recommended for cancer patients, especially when hemoglobin is low.

    Hi all,

This is very helpful info - thank you for sharing it.

Rosey, is your Pro-Greens mixture made by Nutricology? If not, could you tell me how you purchase it?

Bea-mil, could you tell me what brand or kind you get?

    Thanks!

    Pro Greens

ProGreens is available online. There are cheaper green powdered drinks but am convinced this is a fine product.

I was advised by integrative doctor (M.D., U Penn) to take one scoop in a glass of water every morning before breakfast. It doesn't taste great but it isn't objectionable, either; I've grown quite used to it. Prefer it in lukewarm rather than cold water but to each, his own.

I just buy pure propolis and
I just buy pure propolis and prepare the extract at home. You can find instruction how to make it on line. As per greens I start my day by drinking glass of water with 30ml of chlorophyll. I was looking for chlorella in my local health store and couldn't find today.
I thing chlorella has more nutritional values.

ProGreens contains 150 mgs of bee pollen and 150 mgs of royal jelly: is this far less propolis than YOU take per day, Bea-mil? What dose might you recommend?

    Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen and
Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen and Propolis are 3 different things.
Royal jelly is a thick, extremely nutritious, milky-white, creamy liquid secreted by the hypopharyngeal glands of the nurse bees.

Bee pollen has an exceptionally high nutritive value. It is easily digested and assimilated by the human body. It can be used as a supplement. Its composition is approximately 60% carbohydrates, 20% protein, 7% fat, 7% moisture, and 6% minerals. It contains all the nutrients required by humans. It contains 22 amino acids,18 vitamins,11 useful enzymes or co-enzymes, and 25 minerals. It has been scientifically proven to help prevent tumors, help to heal stomach ulcers, reduce sickness caused by radiation therapy, often diminish prostatis, and diminish allergies and respiratory infections.

Bee propolis could best be described as nature's penicillin. It is collected by the bees from plant buds and bark to disinfect and protect their beehive from disease, bacteria, viruses, and fungus. Its composition is approximately 55% resins and balms, 30% wax, 10% etheric oils, and 5% pollen. It contains over 180 compounds, many of which are biologically active. It contains almost all minerals, vitamins and amino acids needed by the body. Its great content of flavenoids, amongst others, is what makes it antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, antiallergenic, antibiotic, and anesthetic. It can help to prevent cancer, mutations, and disease. It is effective in helping to avoid and heal respiratory infections and external wounds. It works not only to prevent or heal diseases but to isolate and clear them from the body. It can be grinded into powder and consumed with honey, or it can also be chewed with gum. It may be dissolved in alcohol or in natural glycerin to make a tincture. It is ideal to boost the body's immunity to disease.

    Very Interesting!

From what you report, propololis sounds the most potent of the three elements (am especially intrigued by Quillen's theory that MANY cancers are little more than sophisticated forms of fungi; if he's right, it makes sense to incorporate as many anti-fungal elements in our diet as we can.

I'd hesitate, however, to dissolve it in honey as I try to avoid sugar in any form. Wonder if alcohol or glycerin are safe for cancer patients ...

    Appreciatively,

    Hi Rosey,
    I'm not dissolving

    Hi Rosey,
I'm not dissolving my propolis in honey (same reason as yours, I don't eat sugar in any form). I'm dissolving it in grain alkohol. Here is the receipe:
1- Place 100g of propolis with 300g of grain alkohol (must be 75% or higher I use "Clear Spring" 95%)into a glass container and seal the top. Shake and store in a warm dark place. I put it in a brown bag on the counter.
2- Two or three times per day shake the container and return to warm dark place. Continue this for 2-3 weeks.
3- Filter the liquid through a coffee filter. The liquid is now ready for use.

I drink 15 drops of the extract with water and I don't think that amount of alkohol can be harmful to us.

    Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Skin Cream!
I've picked up a few samples of this cream for my very dry skin. After looking at the ingredients list (see Supplement Facts below), thought some would have interest. Earlier posting from Bea-Mil mentioned the importance of certain ingredients which are in this cream.

Note, approx 70% of what we put on our skin is absorbed in our bodies. BTW I just love the samples considering purchasing a larger size per link below.

It's in my local Whole Foods stores. If you go to the site I frequent most often you'll find it as well.....

    www.iherb.com.

Assuming you think product will be good? The only thing I don't like about it, rather greasy, but so easy to apply.
