Tomorrow I'm keeping my little precious granddaughter. Our son in-law is going away with the boys overnight, so we're taking our daughter Rachel and Caroline to dinner, too.
Saturday I have a Valentine lunch. When I get home from that, I'll get ready for a party for my Sunday School class. We always get together as a very post Christmas party and exchange unwanted or weird gifts we got for Christmas.
On Sunday I'll have church, and right after it my youth group and I are serving lunch to the senior citizens of our church for Valentine's Day.
I have a father daughter dance to photograph tomorrow night, edit and prep them for delivery on saturday, Bridal fair on Sunday, leave Monday for Denver so Carl can get prepped for surgery.
i am off to a anti cancer fasting retreat to discuss options and logistics of starting fasting therapy. its a drive out into our beautiful mountains, so i will spend the day.
and then off to a fancy dress up dinner at a posh restaurant with friends.
A book about the migration of blacks to the northern USA after slavery. This was done to flee the oppressive American south where lynchings and unjust killings were widespread. It was like fleeing apartheid.
Hi Pepe,
I am going to try and have a wonderful weekend with my husband. he has been great as a caregiver and devoted husband since last May when i was dx. I over heard him tell a friend the other day that "he is tired of this cancer consuming his life". I was very upset to hear this and really didn't realized how much this has taken a toll on him as well... I think he needs some pampering this weekend!
The "kids" are off to Reno to celebrate next door neighbors birthday. We got invited to the birthday party as well, but then who was going to take care of the grandchildren?
I volunteered, so instead of Reno, on a rainy Saturday I'll be snug in the house in Santa Cruz with a fire in the fireplace grandchildren running around and sweetness everywhere.

Had chemo friday (2nd rd 2nd series) just resting up this weekend. Side effects not so bad this time, just from nuasea & no diareeha (yet) side effects meds working good.
We spent yesterday with friends in Friesland. This is where the 11-cities skating race would have been run, had the ice been strong overall.
I took my skates, and skated where the race would have come thru the town in which our friends live. Sun was shining, cold but fun...with LOTS of people on the ice...
We then got in the car and drove to the edge of a frozen inland sea. This, too, would have been part of the race, so there were MANY out skating on this piece of ice that normally hosts boats and ships of all sizes. There, for the first time in 15 years, there were horse races. Not just the beautiful Friesian horses, but these fantastic sleds that the horses pulled. It was GLORIOUS!!! And there were many people dressed in traditional clothing, as well (not me...*smile*...I was having a hard enough time staying warm...). And at an outside stall, there was snert (thick pea soup), warm sausages, coffee, hot chocolate, and gluwine...a special warm wine spiced with cinnamon and other flavors...mmmm!!!
Today, Sunday, started off early driving to a swap meet. Then over to a preview of an art auction in Arnhem. Now home, doing laundry, and watching the skaters across the street on the frozen canal (I've skated this before, and, I decided that since yesterday I spent a full day outside, today was OK to not...). And it just started to snow, so it will be very cold and wet on the ice...
Must be really cold there this days since here is freezing ! Don't remember this cold in Barcelona in long time, which does not help with folfox! .
I love your Dutch plans Kathi.
Best!
