Whats the trick to change the pic

Off topic of cancer stuff....but does anyone know why I can't change my picture? I figured since this one is from the middle of my treatment almost a year ago, I wanted to change it to better days. I was able to delete it and just the generic thing showed. Then I thought I was adding a new one only it added the same one I deleted!...That is strange. Is there a secret button I don't know about?

Thanks, plh4gail

You need to refresh your browser
The same thing happened to me. Log in to CSN from a different browser - you'll see the new picture. I changed mine today - you should be seeing a curler; I still see my octopus. However, when I switch from Firefox to Google Chrome, I see the other picture.

I see you looking over your shoulder, holding a pooch.

    Hi Alice
The browser shouldn't have anything to do with it, refreshing the browser should do it and that's not even needed. The thing that drove me nuts at first was I would try to replace the image without deleting the old one first. You should have no image at one point, then you select a new one and submit.
    Presto!

    Change photo
    Hi Gail,
I made a "how to" post a while ago. Changing your Avatar
I left this out though, FIRST you must select Delete Picture, then press the submit button.
    Then follow the instructions...
    -p

    PS: I found a video I made.
I see that sometimes members ask how to do this or that. Here's a little video I made a while back on how to update or change your Avatar (Profile Photo). I can not change mine now since it is being used in the banner on the main page but I think I covered the steps needed in case anyone wants to to this. Using Hatshepsut's READING ROOM: naming idea, I will try to keep all topics named INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO:
    Change Photo Video.

If anyone has a request for a "How To" video (except How To Cure Cancer) send an email and I will see if I can help.
PS: there is a video on sending emails too

    Phil, I did that
And then I'd see my old avatar on one browser, and my new one on the other. I changed my photo yesterday, and had exactly the same problems as described here. Firefox showed my octopus avatar at the same time the Chrome showed my curling avatar.

I remember a while ago asking people what they saw, because I'd changed my photo, and everyone else saw the new photo, while I still saw the one I deleted. I think it's a matter of deleting your cache (which is why using another browser might work - no cookies, no memory.)

    Bowling
It looks like someone is bowling. Is this the one you wanted? If so it's changed.

I switched browsers and see the bowler as well
On Firefox, I see the bowler, on Chrome, I see you and your little dog, too!

Which picture do you see of me? Octopus or curler?

    Ah-ha!
I went to both of your About Me pages, then clicked on your pictures and they updated on that page. I came back here and now I see the new avatars. In the 15 years of doing web site stuff I have never seen that before. I am using an iPad but I don't think that's making much of a difference.
    BTW: is it sports night?

    Phil Taught Me This Trick...
Delete your picture first in CSN.

Then, browse and add your new picture.

    Hit SUBMIT when done.

Then press F5 on your keyboard.

This will update your new picture in the CSN "About Me" section of yours.
