Pray for my sister

My sister was taken by ambulance a short while ago. She's been complaining
of severe headache for the past several days. I came over for dinner last night
and decided to stay the night. I was up very early this morning and she got
up about an hour after I got up, complaining her head was still hurting.

She sat down on the floor stating it made her feel a little better but sort
of collapsed shortly there after and was vomiting. I woke my brother-in-law
and long story short, we called an ambulance and they took her to the hospital.

He just called me and said he's waiting on a neurologist but they think she
has some sort of bleeding on the brain. That's all I know right now.
I'm asking you to think of Wanda in your prayers and thoughts.
I know they help and I'm living proof of that.

Hugs and thanks,

Jim

    Praying
    Jim,
We are certainly praying for your sister. I am certainly not a Dr.(thank goodness or my CSN name would be GOD #1),but I have heard of the diagnosis your sister has. I can not recall the name they use,but my uncle and his daughter had it. It seemed a vessel in the brain began to leak. It was not a stroke, which is a good thing. This all happened years ago with them. Today,in most cases they can repair the damage. John

    Keep praying and thank you
I just got off the phone with Philip (Wanda's husband) and things don't look good
and he suggested I come to the hospital. She's in Neuro ICU and unconcious.
I'm getting ready to head over there. Keep praying and/or sending positive thoughts.

I'm trying hard not to blubber rignt now (not very successfully).

    Update on my sister
She's still unconscious, and on life support. She had two
brain aneurysms evidently. Prognosis is not good but there is hope.
They shaved part of her head and have a line draining fluid/blood
from her brain. Her brain is not regulating body temperature so they
have been alternating between warming and cooling her body to try
to keep her temperature within normal. I think it got as high as
    106 at one point today.

I don't think she's suffering as she is unaware and I'm thankful for that.
I'm not giving up and I believe miracles happen so keep the prayers and
    positive thoughts coming...

    Thank you so much.

Update on Wanda 12/21 10:20 am.
I spoke with my brother in law and niece this morning.
They ran some relex tests on Wanda last night and took her off
life support briefly. She was non responsive in all cases.

I think they plan to try it again today. In my heart I "feel" she
is gone. I don't mean that to sound negative or without hope,
it's just how I woke up this morning and what I felt and that
was before any phone calls. I'm amazingly calm and peaceful
right now considering. I have no idea where that is coming from.

    I suppose it's a coping/defense mechanism. I'm not giving up -
I think if she wants to come back, she will so let's keep praying
    and sending positive thoughts.

I need to feed my sister's dogs and get ready to head to
the hospital. Thank you for all your support and prayers.

    Praying more
Jim I’m so so sorry to hear your update. My heart aches that you are going through this. Brain injuries are all unique and only time will tell. Sometimes they can hear, but can’t respond. Please talk to her, tell her all the things you want and need her to know. As hard as it may be, it might be a good time for your wonderful sense of humor. Tell her some of your funny stories or times that you've shared together. Your feeling of “she’s gone” could be a temporary thing. I’m praying harder for you and your family.
    Luv & Hugs

    My baby sister is gone...
My sister was officially pronounced this morning.

She was an organ donor so they are maintaining the body to test
and find matches for those in need for donor organs.
Hospital and organ donor staff had a short service and
raised a flag in front of the hospital in her honor this
afternoon at 2:00pm. Her daughter Tosha (who usually did her hair)
cut her beautiful long hair to be donated to "Locks of Love".
We had a short prayer service in her room afterwards lead by Tosha's husband.

The remains will be cremated after organ and tissue harvesting is completed - which was my sister's wish. Tentative plans are to have a memorial service some time after Christmas.

This was all very sudden and to the best of my knowledge, Wanda did not suffer
    and for that I'm grateful.

She had a deep love of and extraordinary gift with animals and was widely known for this.
A very kind and giving person, she will be dearly missed.

It breaks my heart to have to share this news with you but
my baby sister is gone. I'm so proud of her for being so kind,
thoughtful and selfless in donating her organs/body to those in need.

    Jim
