Something tells me I am back in the fight ...

It has been a little bit since my last post, but I have been lurking and reading post pretty routinely. Anyway, I finished treatment in April of this year and have had clean scans since with a normal CEA. However, over the past couple of weeks I have noticed some blood streaks when I empty the bag and I have had the same type dull ache in my backside that I had pre-diagnosis. I am normally pretty optimistic but this truly has me worried. I was really hoping for a little more time off before jumping back in to all of this and, of course, not at all would have been preferred. I have called the onc and am waiting to hear back, but thought I would jump on here to see if anyone had any advice or wisdom they might share.

Thanks,
Shane

    Hi Shane
Nice to see you again but wish it was under different circumstances.

Are you able to tell if the blood streaks are actually in the stool or if it might perhaps be coming from the area around the stoma?

If something were going on at the original tumor site, I don't think it could be showing up in the bag since contents never get to that site.

Hoping that this is just a small bump in the road and does not put you back on the battle list. Regardless, wishing you the best and hope you will stop in more often.

    Hugs,
