    Since this is one of the Spirituality forums, I don't feel out of place in saying that I am very drawn to the crystal in your picture. Occasionally, I am taken by a particular piece and this one really is stunning.

    Is it something that you own? May I ask (if you do) what part it plays in your life?

    Just drawn to it.

    Thanks,

    That is a great one! I would always say 'don't stop until you see the train leaving the station'.

    I was in London, had just moved out of my apartment and was on my way (already late) to catch the last train up north to spend a few weeks with family when the train in the underground stopped. It sat there for more than 45 mins. By the time I arrived at the train station the train should have already left. I ran over to the platform and there was the train! I jumped on it right as it started moving.

    I was about 23 at the time. It has been a very motivating message for me and helped me to develop persistance. Well, maybe I already had it as I was persistently annoying to my brother.

    TODAY MATTERS!!

    Life is not measure by the breaths we take, but rahter by the moments that take our breath away.

    Two of my favorites that I have hanging in my cube at work....to remind me how precious each day is!

    I like this - I also have
    I like this - I also have one which sounds similar. Its:

    “Don’t count the days, make the days count.”

    I always thought it was a great quote and I found out recently who came up with it ! I was surprised to see it was Muhammad Ali.

    "All we are saying is give peace a chance"
    (John Lennon reference)

    I have found this 'Flowers' quote to be profound since the first time I read it, whether here or elsewhere and for some reason, every time I read it I oddly think of Kurt Vonnegut and the images of the bombing of Dresden. It is a curious connection, I know.

    Mother Teresa
    I know it's not a quote, but I love this poem:

    Mother Teresa's Anyway Poem

    People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
    Forgive them anyway.

    If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
    Be kind anyway.

    If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
    Succeed anyway.

    If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
    Be honest and frank anyway.

    What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
    Build anyway.

    If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
    Be happy anyway.

    The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
    Do good anyway.

    Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
    Give the world the best you've got anyway.

    You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
    It was never between you and them anyway.

    This is the wonderful and tragic dichotomy between belief and disbelief, but fails to account for the unknowing.

    Hi MayLee
    That is why John said in Hebrews that faith is the substance of things we all hoped for and the evidence of things we have not seen yet but know that they are there.

    This quote is very true. You really don't realise what you have before cancer changes the way you see things, how you view the world and what you take for granted every day...unfortunately when I was diagnosed I was young and didn't understand what I had in the first place.
