Home sweet home

We made the trip home in two days...a much better two days than I had envisioned! No bathroom accidents, the female urinal is now one of my best friends. Never have to get a sore neither region near a nasty potty again! (I am lucky my Bm' s are on a schedule of sorts, handled by me!) senekot at night to encourage bm in am and if it won't stop or becomes diarrhea a Lomotil to stop it. Doctor approved of course.

Still want to scream half the time when it is time to potty.....ok....most of the time! I have meds down to where they work for me....only a small garden cartful instead of a full wheelbarrow.

Now the facts: two hard days on road.
Home with my family and dogs.
Scariest trip ever imagined over.

Oh, I bought one of those cool top foam pillows to sit on. Wonderful. Doctor says no donuts or the likes because stretching the fissures and starting trouble.

Thanh you thank you for all the survival ideas.....read and heeded, lorie at HOME

    Woohoo!
Lorie, I'm so glad to hear you are home safely and without any major difficulties along the way. About the painful BM's. I know how bad that is, but believe me, it will get better. Were you given any Lidocaine cream to rub on your port prior to accessing it? If so, you might try putting a little of that on the anal area prior to BM's to numb things up. If you don't have any, find out if your doctor will write you a script. I found the best thing to apply to keep the skin from drying out was A&D ointment, which is a diaper rash cream with zinc oxide. I still use it on occasion when things get a little raw down under.

I'm glad you're home with your family, friends, and furballs. Hang in there--you will rebound quickly!
