So this is how cancer starts

My dear ladies:

This site has really helped me a lot in many different ways. But with each negativity, it begins to eat away at the really good stuff that I get from this site. Sort of how cancer works? Yes, I can ignore it, I can decide not to read it, etc. etc., but this site has been a comfort to me. So lets get that back.

*****************************************************************

Today, I wish everyone a very good day. I hope anyone who is having a test may get good results. Anyone in treatment, I hope you feel good. If you are NED, enjoy today - go play, hug a friend.

I want to share this prayer with you:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.

Happiness and peace!

Kathy

Kathy and Jan and all here
Thank you so much for the positivity. Funny that you make the cancer analogy, Kathy. Early in this cancer journey I read Louise Hey who says that cancer is long held resentments. So we need to let the resentments go or THAT FEEDS CANCER just like many other things that are discussed here. Now there's FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

No matter what happens in life - here or elsewhere - we ALWAYS have a CHOICE in how we react to it. I choose to love each of you and wish you joy and peace as you walk your paths today and always.

    THANK YOU!!!
Thank you, Kathy for this refreshing discussion. Lets talk about the good things that we do. I know for myself I prefer to focus on what works instead of what doesn't. I run a business and have learned that anything can be made into a challenge instead of a problem. Many of the best inventions and medical break-throughs were from failures. It is all in how you view the situation. The glass is always half full. No matter what. That is just the way I am wired. I am the kid looking for the pony under the pile of manure.(old joke)

I choose to stay here because I like the ladies here. I wish those who have chosen to leave the best. May they find peace. Just as the prayer of St. Frances you posted says.
    Peace to all....Norma

    What I Will Do
As Kathy wrote: "It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,"

I will do my part and forgive the person who took the first verbal shots at me and started all of this. It was so unnecessary. I just wonder where all the "defenders" were then? I forgive/pardon all of them too.

    Ladies!
Mary Ann what you typed was what I've read prior -- RESENTMENT FEEDS CANCER!! As I typed in another posting, NEGATIVISM ISN'T GOOD FOR ANY OF US FIGHTING THE CANCER BATTLE! What all the pent up "junk" does to our insides is amazing and NOT GOOD FOR ANY ONE.

I choose to forgive and go on with life in a positive way. Not always easy as I'm the "a" type personality who like to keep some control. Cancer has reminded me I'm not always a winner and therefore, must learn to accept and not judge others. Not easy, but I work on these thoughts daily.

Mary Ann, how do you keep your cool? You've mentioned to me prior about a good book to read which yes I did purchase...now do I actually practice the teachings....hum? Suggestions? Book if anyone is interested, GETTING WELL AGAIN, by O. Carl Simonton, MD. I'm all about our minds controlling our bodies....best get moving on this mission.

I feel we can all be better people and go forward and realize life is way too short.

    Love & kisses to everyone!!

    My 2 cents....
I would like to chime in even though I read the boards every day I do not log in to comment. Just think the comments in my head.
My saying has always been in my 50+ years: "And this too shall Pass." I am a very private, laid back but passionate person. When I started my MMMT cancer journey back in March 2011, I had to open up myself to a lot of people besides just my very close circle of family and friends. The biggest thing I did was to send a message out to everyone that I worked with or currently work with at my job. The message told them what was going on with me and that I needed their prayers and/or good thoughts sent out to which ever higher power that they believed in. It must have worked because I am through with my treatments, just two months, and I am NED for now.
I waited to my journey was almost over before I posted on this site but joined before my surgery to read what others had gone through so I would have some idea. This site has helped me get through the last few months but it has been through reading all the information and taking what I thought was good for me.
I do get concerned when a person post what worked for them, then tells everyone reading that it will work for them. Others come back and get upset by the advice. What everyone needs to remember is that what works for one person by not work for all but you do not have to bash someone for posting information.
I always heard the expression that if you do not use it, you lose it, so maybe that is why I got the cancer. Anyway, thanks to all the ladies on this site that post their thoughts and their journey’s, what works for them and what did not work, and all the encouraging thoughts from everyone.
    And this too shall pass.

Thank you for the positive heart felt comments. I don't mind when someone is feeling down in the dumps and I see that differently. Sometimes we need support during scary times. I liked your post with cancer. I don't think we can blame people for giving themselves cancer though. And I don't think you meant that. I love your prayers and hold them in my heart. My hairdresser told me I have such a great attitude. I never think I do. I think I hold my fears inside and share them with all here. I apologize if I drag anyone down, but here I can share my fears with my sisters. Thank you for the support and kindness.

    Diane:
    You are absolutely

    Diane:

You are absolutely right. When I re-read it as though someone else wrote it, I did not mean how it is read. I always tell my boys about texting how someone can get the wrong impression. I only wanted to say that they are both negative and not to dwell on the negative but always look to the positive.

Although a cancer diagnosis itself is bad (negative), the positive for me is that my husband and I spent much more quality time together and he was able to make me laugh (when I was crying) through some of my difficult times.

Sometimes we have to discuss our fears outloud and once we say them outloud we can face them, and somehow we can find the strength to overcome those fears and face our problems.

Ooops. Now I am rambling again. My good train of thought just left!

Please note that I do send my thoughts and well wishes for you even though I don't say it in a post.
