Celebrating 2 yrs since surgery and staging

Hard to imaging that it has been two years since my surgery and staging. Stage IIIC Grade 2.(details in bio)
At the time I did not see my future as being very bright, although determined that come what may I was going to endure. Now 2 yrs later, one grandbaby, new business, numerous days of feeling wonderful, I can say that I am so very grateful. Grateful for the extrordinary medical care I was given. Blessed to live near an incredible place like MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Super support from my husband and family and the ladies here. Blessed with the healing grace of God.

Wish I could throw a party. Would invite all of you wonderful gals. Just wanted to thank you for the support and caring.

For those beginning this journey read the discussions here. It is a place of hope and loving concern.

That is really wonderful. M.D. Anderson is the place I would go, were I to go anywhere, for the best treatment. Your prior posts have always been so upbeat and positive, that probably greatly helped in your recovery. If you decide to throw a party I would be honored to meet you.

Gives the "2" behind your name special meaning.

(((Norma)))) 2 years down, many many more to come!
It'll be 3 years for me on October 10th since my surgery & staging. My cancer journey has been constant and my cancer relentless. And yet I join you in looking back at all the joys and beauty of the past 3 years, years where the 'good' ridiculously outweighed the 'bad', cancer be damned.

& it wasn't really the big trips to foreign lands that made these past years so rich. It was the countless small things, like my 9-year-old grandson climbing onto my lap in the movie theatre Friday to be comforted when the Daddy lion was killed in The Lion King. Or my 10-year-old graddaughter holding my hand while I drove her to Friendley's after school yesterday to get her some dinner and try and figure out her math homework together. The laughter, the fun, the warmth, the acts of touching kindness. I know that you feel the same, Norma. Life is so good, well worth the battle to extend it as long as we can.

    Dear Sweet Wonderful Ladies!!!
Thank you so much for your warm responses: Claudia, Linda, Annie, Kathy, Karen, Lori, and Helen!!!! (((GROUP HUGGGGG))!!!
Linda, you are so right it is those small everyday things that are the fabric of our lives. Thornton Wilder in Our Town really brings that point home when Emily goes back and lives one day in her life. The "normal" is seen for the extraordinary miracle that it is. Looking for the small wonderful things and savoring them.

And all else who read this discussion. If you have a cancer diagnosis or have a loved one who does know, there is hope and comfort. Seek out positive people who will build you up. Gather as much information as possible. Use your good judgment. And above all NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER EVER!
