Name that cancer

I was reading another post and someone had "named" their cancer. At first I was a little taken aback, but then I thought that's kind of funny. They said "Harvey is gone and he's not coming back." I have Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma which I will be living with for a very long time, so I thought if I have to share my body with something maybe I should name it.
I haven't figured out what yet, but if you were to name your cancer what would you name it and why? Is it like your first born or a pet or an appendage? lol
It would certainly help to speak about it in privacy because only the people you tell would know. What do you think? Cat (OK really weird! why does the date on this say DEC 31, 1969??!)

    Good ones!
It's so nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks naming it is funny! I like Tommy Tumor ha ha, but they're all good! I'm thinking maybe I'll name mine Brad Pitt because Hey, if I have to share my body with someone, why not? and I was diagnosed by a lymph node removed from my arm"Pitt" hee hee! I might have trouble though when someone hears me talking about Brad Pitt like I know him. Iceman did anyone think you were completely crazy?!
    Thanks everyone!

    HI Anne,
I'm sorry for your diagnosis, but I'm happy to see you have a good tude! Camillia can hide no more! Kill the (b)witch! lol Seems to me that naming it makes it something tangible to fight.
Wish you the best with your battle and keep the spirit up!

    Funny
Okay, I confess at some point in my youthful past I named my tallywhacker
but it's been around a lot longer than the cancer and I don't think the chemo
is making it go away (yikes).

Hmmm, I'll have to think about this one....

How about "Nancy Node" short for "maligNANCY"
as in the case of lymphoma?

...."Freddie"... that was the name I used in way back then.. lol.
    Have no idea why...

Have a good day and thanks for the smiles.

    Ahahaha!
Jim that's too funny!! Freddie?! Maybe you should call your cancer Barney and turn it into "Rubble", and you could be Fred & Barney lol. Or you could choose Freddie Krueger and have good Freddie and bad Freddie (don't go there!)!
Nancy Node! Sounds like some damsel in a romance novel haha! Like it.
Somehow Lucifer comes to mind, but then I would feel like I was possessed which is kinda how I DO feel, but I don't need to bring any more evil into this.
This is hard! I didn't really think I was going to put this much thought into it, but it's becoming a quest lol. Ready for some more suggestions!

    After the fact
I never thought of this while I was fighting stage IIIc ovarian cancer. But naming it now that I am NED, I would call it "OvarianDunWith" because I am over and done with it.

    Blue meanies and dandruff
    Hi there
Nice to see some folks with a sense of humour. We Brits have a very laid back humour and that humour was a real good way to deal with all the bad stuff. When i had T.C years ago i noticed tht my dandruff had gone completley along with most of my hair. I asked my oncologist if maybe we can bottle the chemo, go into business and make a fortune! He loved the idea.

I now have been living with CLL for several years and when i see my hemtologist i ask her about my Blue meanies, i.e. My white blood count. Told her to see yellow submarine and she would understand
Cancer is a real toughie, but providing you do not offend anybody, take the humour all the way.

    Wishing you all the best

    Hi Mr Steve & Ronnie!
    These are so funny!
Ya know cancer is kinda like being pregnant, you have to watch what you eat, get morning sickness from the treatments, worry about your weight and WOW does it feel good to get that "baby" out of your body! lol!
Love the Blue meanies! Sounds like it should be a Saturday morning cartoon. Ever hear of Smurfs? Now there's a name for someone!
Thanks everyone! (And it's nice to hear from people I probably wouldn't have on my cancer specific topic.) Take Care!!

    My name
I’ve decided to name my cancer PITA. Because that’s what she is. A *Pain *In *The ***** (among other places)! The running around for treatments, doctor appointments, tests, surgeries, time off from work and making me not feel good is a really big PITA!
Putting a name and gender to this helps me feel like I am actually fighting something and not just a leaf on the river. It feels like I have separated it from my body even though I know it’s there. Never thought when I started this thread that it would actually be therapeutic, I just thought it was funny.
Now I feel my family will think I have gone completely crazy! Well, whatever works! I don’t like PITA, but I’m stuck with her for now and I will get some small pleasure thinking that she is going to get spanked at my next treatment ha ha!
These are great names, keep em coming!

    Why the big C
Woke up this morning and read the new posts. Really wonderful, just like a breath of fresh air! Good to see so many people laughing about it.

Why on earth do they call it " The big C". Sounds awful and i think we must start a movement to get rid of this awful name. So if any of you can think of something, then put it on the board. Lets just start with anything that begins with C and see where we go. Am a bit fuzzy early morning, but i love word games, and this could be a challenge and a funny one at that.

Cauliflour, cog, carrot, CGIOOMH ( cant get it out of my head) etc, etc.......

    My fave so far
"OvarianDunWith" by Tethys41 is my absolute favorite (though I know it primarily
    relates to ovarian cancer).

I might modify the "Nancy" idea to "Nancy NoMore" ;).
