withdrawal symptoms in preparation for RAI

I am in the preparation stage for RAI at the end of the month. I am now off all thyroid medicine and on a low iodine diet for three days. I feel pretty good and have not had any of the withdrawal symptoms that I read about. I know it sounds funny but I am wondering why. Has everyone that went off the meds had withdrawal? I have been off Levothyroxine for 13 days and off cytomel for 3, is that not long enough to experience withdrawal. I just want to be prepared for what might be to come. Any help will be appreciated.

    depends
some people notice being off meds for 1 day... others go longer

for the first few days off cytomel (round 1) i didn't notice much... by the 8th or 9th day I was defiantly feeling them but i didn't have problems driving.

i hear some people feel just fine all the way through it it also depends how much thyroid tissue you have left as well as how much thyroid hormone you have left in your body still.

hopefully you do not have many but only time will tell

Thanks for the reply - so I should just go with it and see what happens.

Off Synthroid for 30 days tomorrow
I felt it after the first week, but am really dragging now. Hopefully my test scan will be next week as this is not fun. I do think that everyone has a different reactions and time frames as to coming off the medicines. I would just take it a day at a time and look up symptoms of hypothyroidism. It will give you a range of POSSIBLE side effects. That helps me so that I can assure myself that what I am feeling is part of the process and not something that should be sending me to the ER. Take care~Cheryl

Thank you - that is what I am trying to do. I have looked up the symptoms but as I said, so far so good. I will continue to "try" to take it one day at a time, will be glad when this is over. Good luck to you too.
