Good checkup, scary dilators!

I went to my first followup appointment with rad onc MD today (6 weeks post). After DRE he said my tumor was about 80% smaller, not fixed and firm anymore, and could be just scar tissue! I was very encouraged! I think the IMRT sessions I received spared me some of the worse side effects that some of us have experienced. I'm healing pretty well. I do have some rectal pain; but I can deal with it.
Then we talked about the vaginal issues. What am I supposed to do with the coochy of a 5 year old girl?? I may turn 50 this month, but I just got married 2.5 years ago and not ready to give up the fun stuff with the man I adore :) Doc told his nurse to get the medium dilator. I told her that I may really need a small one to start. She gave me both. Good thing too! The "small" is plenty big for the little girl coochy! The medium seems scary big to me at this point! I'm a little afraid of trying them, but more afraid of not!
I just had to tell someone - so I picked you guys! :)

Yes, Its something that must be done. I don't have a significant other, but if I did, I would have him help me with the process, of course as long as he is gentle. Dialators are boring lol. I use mine but probably not as much as I should. Another reminder that I need to. I haven't had any issues with pabst or gyno exams, they had no trouble, and I have no pain. I know its shorter though, so I need to work on that.

    Dilators
Now a necessity of maintaining good vaginal health. I use mine in the shower--lube it up, insert it while I am scrubbing everything but the nether region. By the time I have everything clean, it's ready to remove it and finish scrubbing! This is the best way I've found to keep myself consistent with using the thing. I agree, start small and work your way up!

    Good going
My husband is 3 years cancer free, but this started when we had just been married 2 years. I relate to how you feel. This is second marrage for me and we have a very good marriage so cancer needs to leave us alone, HA HA
