    E-book
I checked and this is no longer available online. However, I have it all saved and if you'll send me a private message with your e-mail address, I will try to send it to you. I don't know if that will be possible due to the size of the file, but I would be happy to try.

    Hi There,
I was trying to find this book as well and couldn't. Would you be willing to try and send it to me as well? (I've just been diagnosed with anal cancer).

I was trying to find this book as well and couldn't. Would you be willing to try and send it to me as well? (I've just been diagnosed with anal cancer).

Kindle book from Amazon and two other informational websites
This book is available from Amazon for the Kindle (authored by the National Institute of Health). Price is listed as $3.99. I haven't read it, so I can't offer a review.

    http://www.amazon.com/Always-Wanted-About-Cancer-ebook/dp/B003IPCFTS/ref=sr_1_2?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1312504917&sr=1-2

They also list another book, but the price of that one is over $80.00.

You might get just as much information from this site at the American Cancer Society:

    http://www.cancer.org/cancer/analcancer/detailedguide/anal-cancer-what-is-anal-cancer

Or here, at the Mayo Clinic site:

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/anal-cancer/DS00852

Sorry, you'll have to cut and paste these web addresses; I can't figure out how to make a hyperlink on this forum.

    Thanks Rose!
Thanks for posting the link to the e-book, which is a different one than the one I have, which was written by Theresa Mayhew. She was a blogger friend of mine who died from recurrent anal cancer in February 2011. She compiled lots of information from other anal cancer survivors/patients, including me, on dealing with side effects during treatment and other good tips. She was not a doctor or other healthcare professional, just another person like you and me who have dealt with this disease firsthand. She was a wonderful woman who put this book together for the benefit of others, even while battling her recurrence. She left all of us a tremendous gift and I will always be grateful to her for that. I miss her very much.

I'm so sorry about your friend, Martha. But what a wonderful thing she did, leaving us all this information. I found her book at Amazon and just ordered it. Even though I'm out of treatment, I'd love to read her book. Amazon has the paperback in stock. Price is listed as $5.95.

Kicking Cancer in the Butt - Theresa Mayhew
Theresa's book came today in the mail. I love it. I sure wish I had it before I started treatment. I loved the list of things to get in preparation for treatment. What a godsend that would've been back then! Lots of helpful ideas, experiences, recommendations, and support.

    Hi Rose
I'm so glad you found Theresa's book helpful, even if it is after your treatment has concluded. Theresa would be very happy to know that.
