    You're amazing!
You understand your disease and your treatments and do it all with style and grace, Linda. And then you take the time to share and educate us about it all. I'm so pleased that you were able to quality for this treatment and that you're a real part of it. I hope those markers plummet soon and you can tolerate the remaining treatments.

    Sounds grueling
But you are your usual trooper self!! Thanks for the vast info. Hope you get some rest today and that the pills and treatment do the trick for you.

My very best to you, Mary Ann

Just a note that a week out of surgery I am 100% recovered!
Although I am still gradually being weaned off steroids and have to stay on prescription Prilosec another couple of weeks, I did want to let you know that I am fully recovered now from the radioembolism last Wednesday (8 days). In fact, I weeded all morning, lounged in the new pool with a friend all afternoon, and the grandkids will be here soon to sleep over tonight, with plans for us to go for brunch & to see KungFu Panda 2 in 3-D early tomorrow afternoon. Maybe it's the false energy of the steroids, but I feel like my old healthy energetic self again. I was very sick the 1st few days following the procedure, but really worked at hydrating, eating healthy and doing what exercise I could and I think the excellent care I gave myself made a huge difference in how quickly I bounced back. My bowels are somewhat loose (I go within an hour of eating every time), but I am not uncomfortable.

The radiation will continue to work in me killing cancer for another week. Then it will be at least 3 weeks before any reliable testing can be done, to see if there are any early indicators of effectiveness. I still have to get the other half of my liver radioembolized in July, but at least we did the side with the vast majority of the cancer already. So I have returned to my symptom-free, side-affect-free blissful existance. Extensive liver mets and a CA125 last measured at 8500,...and yet I feel GREAT! Cancer is one wierd beast!

Linda, Sweet Girl - You Are the Best!
Always forging ahead - always with love and spunk. I just read about your new challenge. You are amazing.

As for me, I have been in Florida for most of the winter - no computer, no TV, but great friends, stacks of books, and, of course, the ocean. It has been about a year since the lymph node was detected. I completed IP in December, 2010. So far, so good.

    Let's have a spectacular summer !!!

Love you, and all our warriors,

    Connie

    Linda what great news
I am so happy to hear you are feeling good again. I was happy to see you post in the evening, too, and not the early morning hours. I hope that means you are getting some sleep. How about your weight. Are you maintaining your weight, or have you lost more? I hope you are maintaining, or gaining. With all those steroids I would think you would gain. You have been taking excellent care of yourself, and glad you recognize that.

So glad you enjoyed the day, and you have fun activities with the grandkids. Emily especially will be happy to see Grandma back to her usual self. Enjoy the time with them.

I do hope this radioembolism works for you. I bet you are not looking forward to the July treatment, knowing what you know now. Hopefully you will hear good result from this treatment before you go for the other side to make it more tolerable.

Continue you "blissful existance" and find joy in each day. You are such an inspiration. Thanks for sharing all your experiences with us. In peace and caring.

    You are amazing, Linda
I just wanted to add my comments to those of your loving community here. You so deserve to feel energetic; to enjoy your time in the pool, with your family (grandkids, especially) and friends, gardening; and to have the first part of a SUCCESSFUL treatment behind you. My thoughts are with you, and may this cutting edge treatment give you many, many years to enjoy your life.
