    Walk
Did my daily treadmill. Yesterday did just under 11,000 steps.

Pete don't rush getting to exercise too fast. You just had surgery. Hope you are feeling better each and every day though.

It is a bummer when you want to exercise and the bathroom wins :(

    Well, sons girlfriend
Well, sons girlfriend brought a bike up, she wanted to ride while my son jogs, can't keep up with him. So, saw that bike sitting there and thought WHY NOT!!! Haven't been on a bike in ages, first day wobbly, second day I was back to just holding on to the handle bars with one hand....so goes to show you, like the saying goes, you don't forget how to ride a bike.

Ok smokey ,bicycle is going to be your tool since now!
Pete time to open thread number 3 , just ask for any activity you may think ,( my English is awful some times I write jugs instead of Hugs you can imagine!) LOL.

    I enjoyed reading that Graci
I can so relate to the high heels. Oh to remember those days.
My whole life I was obese, always the fat kid in school. when I was 49 I had a gastric bypass and lost 100 lbs. For the first time in my life I loved dressing up. I was a widow and finally got the courage to start dating again. I went to the gym 3 days a week and on the off days walked 6 miles along a river not far from my house. I was about a size 5 and toned. I could dance like a nut in those high heels and I loved frilly dresses.

Then 4 years ago I developed painful lumps on my feet, first thought to be tumors, maybe caused by the auto-immune CREST syndrome I was diagnosed with the previous year.(maybe from dancing like a nut in heels and walking every day in Walmart sneakers?)
I was a nurse then, and loved it, Pediatrics being my favorite, I started charity programs for needy kids for Christmas, I volunteered for everything that came along.
I planted a tree for a dying nurse in her mother's yard, as her last gift to her. People showed up to help me and donated money to pay for the tree and a bench.
It was known in my hospital, if you want to get something done, call Betty Jo, if she cant find someone to do it, she'll do it herself.
I was a semifinalist for the Jefferson Award for community Service in 2007 and had lunch with the Governor of Pa, he told my granddaughter I was a role model for her. I totally loved my life then. I was Miss October on my Hospitals Nursing calendar. I was so happy with myself for the first time in my life.
Then, I could not even walk in nursing shoes. finally the doctor said Betty, the tumors have to be removed and biopsied. That was the end of the life I loved so much.

I was never able to go back to work. It was memorial day the last I worked, seemed kind of fitting. It was the hardest thing I ever did, giving up nursing.
I was afraid of starving. I had scaled back to part time status the year before so I was unsure of my benefits. I applied for SSDI, I was granted in 5 months right after my short term ins expired. I have a pension from my late husband but its not very much.

2 surgeries on my feet. never healed correctly so then another on the left. then I had an abnormal Pap test. that started the roller coaster, had a total abdominal hysterectomy, a severe MRSA infection. Feet got bad again. trying to get a handle on my health enough to get them repaired again by another foot surgeon. My first year post op hysterectomy I had an abnormal pap which started a series of tests, bad biopsies,
I went out of town to a renowned cancer center for another opinion on what turned out to be pre-cancerous HPV virus, so I had to use chemo cream vaginally for 10 weeks.
Brutal stuff and messy, all through this I had been having diarrhea and going to the doctor, who said get a scope but WHO HAD TIME. So, I had the scope end of last august, within a week was in the hospital with stage 3C colon cancer in my cecum. resection, no colostomy or ileostomy. 6 months of chemo

so thats my story graci, I have 4 granddaughters who took all my high heels. Many friends who divvied up my many uniforms.
I have 6 beautiful grandkids and even though Im only 58 the oldest is graduating soon. All the girls and myself volunteer for my friend who manages the pediatric urgent Care and includes us to work for the telethon every year, its next weekend. only had to miss it once
I also have scheduled my LAST foot surgery for June 30, then Ill be all good to go.
Life maybe has to be different but that doesnt mean I cant make it good right?
    sorry guys, got carried away.
Good night and God Bless us every one

    Walking
Ok did my usual 37 minutes. Yesterday, walked almost 15,000 steps. It must have been all the buying at the nursery and getting all those flowers. Also did some gardening today. I'll only look at my steps on pedomoter the next morning, that is why the steps posted are from the day before.

    Hugs to everyone. Kim

I have an exercise bike and I have been trying to get on it every day, for at least 10 minutes. My left leg is still sore from the DVT. Its resolved but if I push too much it keeps me awake at night.
Last week I planted a vegetable garden by myself. so much work but hopefully I will have organic veggies for free.
My 5 yr old Granddaughter Hannah slept over and I promised to take her to the playground before I take her home. Ill be walking..to a bench with my Kindle

Oh Tuesday I walked a route
Oh Tuesday I walked a route I like for the first time since February when I had a 3 week break. Other than that....as for real excersize and not sitting and eating or resting for a break at the mall.....it's been a year at least. My body is stiff and very old feeling. It hurts to get up from sitting or laying and I don't mean the ordinary stiff like my friends tell me. But I will continue...I have gained 20 pounds of pure fat tissue since December and I want to do something about it! Thank's for this post Pete!

    Love, Gail
