Hi y'all...I understand that pelvic and hip stiffness is common between those of us who have gone thre, or are going thru these treatments. Until I start PT does any one have have home remedies I can try? It's driving me crazy not to be able to cook, clean, hell...move. It's palnting season, I have my step daughters wedding in Fla in Nov, and my 2 year old grandaughter is moving up here in Jan. I want to be able to do these things again. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Melodie

Hi. I have had pelvic and hip issues all along also. I have done PT, and it does help. Using a step, whether it is 2", 4", or more is a good way to start. Also a lunge stance will help to stretch those muscles again. I also have done leg lifts, holding the leg in the air for short periods of time. Another trick one of my therapists showed me was to drop one leg off the side of a bench and kind of tuck it under the bench and hold it for 30 seconds at a time. This will stretch out those muscles also. I wish you the best with this. I still have problems here and there, but I also have athritis and osteo which just complicates the weakness I developed due to the cancer.

thanks for the tips. I have been doing stretching exercises which hurt like hell. I wanted to avoid this, but I'm gonna have to break the walker out for while. I can't go to a store unless they have the motorized carts, and then I still have to wait for my husband to actually do the shopping. He insisted on buying the things we used to...frozen meats, fresh veggies...and thinks I'm gonna have dinner ready when he gets home. I can't cook like I used to cuz I can't stand for long. So...I just turned 50 and in addition to doing the stretching, I'm gonna have to swallow my pride and use the walker. Thanks again for the advice. Melodie

I have had similar issues. Someone posted on this site they started taking Calcium with Vitamin D. I started taking this about one month ago and have noticed a huge improvement in my joint stiffness and pain. It is not completely gone but it is 90% better than before I started taking the Calcium with Vitamin D. The directions on the bottle I have say to take one pill twice daily with meal. A friend of mine says she takes Caltrate brand Calcium with Vitamin D ad does not have to take hers with a meal. Once I take all my pills I plan to try Caltrate. Hope this helps.
