Fatigue

Hi everyone, I have a question. I am going to have surgery on the 24th to remove a small 2.5 x 1.5 cm malignant lesion from the liver. That is how big it was 2 months ago. Anyway, the past couple weeks i have had bouts of extreme fatique and when walking the dog my knees get shaky. Now here is my question. Isn't it too early for symptoms? Not much i can do about it at this point, but i was curious if anyone else went through this. I keep telling myself, i am letting my imagination get carried away. But my imagination keeps telling me to go to bed!
Thanks, Judy

    Hi Judy
I don't have experience with that but I say if your body is saying it's tired then you should rest. Keep us up to date with the surgery.

    Hugggss!!!

I'm sure I don't know what's causing the fatigue, but I do know that your body is telling you something. You should listen to it and rest. You'll know more after the surgery, but I definitely think you should take it easy until then.

Not sure if this is related
but my partner has HEP C, which affects the liver, and she suffers from constant fatigue, I think anytime you have something going on with the liver fatigue is an issue, but I am not a doctor, so I would send in a call to yours if nothing else to ease your mind. Hope you feel better soon, and will be saying a prayer for a speedy recovery..

    Crazy!!!
Get those thoughts out of your head! You are NOT lazy. You're sick!! You will hopefully have LOTS of energy once you recover from the surgery. Until then, let yourself be "lazy."

    Thanks, Gail, I guess
Thanks, Gail, I guess because the lesion is small i think there should be no symptoms.
But evidently there are. So I will take everyones advice and just go take a nap!
    Love you guys,

Do they test your salts (potassium, magnesium, sodium, etc.,) when they do your blood tests? I have been terribly fatigued for awhile. It turns out my salts and my hemoglobin were low. I got an infusion of magnesium and saline yesterday, along with my treatment (erbitux). I feel like a whole new person today. On Friday I am getting a blood transfusion. I would call my doctor; if you wait for surgery + they find you are low in something, they may delay surgery.

I have not had blood work
I have not had blood work for over a month. You bring up a good point. Tomorrow I go to see the anesthesiologist. I will mention it to him. Thanks very much,
