Husband lung cancer spread

My husband was diagnosed two months ago with lung cancer. Lately his equalibrium has been off so a brain scan was done. A small spot was found on his brain. Now, his vision is blurry. No treatment has been started as of yet due to the fact he just got in to see a cancer doctor and he wants to consult with a nuerologist about the spot on the brain. My husband seems to think he's in the early stages because the spots are small. We know the one on his left lung is approx. 2cm. We don't know the exact size of the one on his brain other than it's small. I know from everything I am reading without being told; this sounds like stage IV. Can someone please give me some insight on prognosis or for better words, your experience with the information I have provided. My husband is incarcerated and it took them four months to get a biopsy done after learning of the spot on his lung. Please help! Unfortunately, in my situation, I won't be able to find out no more than he wants to tell me. Additionally, he isn't wanting to hear any negative talk so therefore, he won't even discuss the possiblities.

seems to be the hardest part of dealing with cancer. I am not sure what your options are since your husband is incarcerated but I do not see any reason you could not find out medical info pertaining to your husband. Once he has an oncologist (cancer doc), and/or neurosurgeon, I would think you could contact them for info. As far as treatment, it is his call. I do hope and pray that your husband allows you an opinion in treatment options. This is never an easy journey to be on and it is very emotional for all involved. Treatment options are varied according to what type of cancer and the stage of the cancer. You said he had a biopsy and as soon as the pathology results come back, they will know more. I hope you are able to be informed. It sounds like your situation is not going to be an easy one. I am sure that someone on this board will be of assistance and offer some good suggestions. Be strong! God bless

    Find out when
Find out when his surgery is sched. and they will tell you where to wait and the Doctor "should come out and talk to you", we also had to sign our names in etc... in the special waiting rm when Mom was having her surgery.

My prayers are with you, the unknown and the waiting is awful.
