Some of us have talked about our pets before and how they are helping us through this time. I just thought I'd give the cat some face time, just to show I'm not strictly a dog person. Fay

    Just dogs for me
Very cute that you thought of your cat. I have 2 german sheperds and they are one of my biggest comforts they bring so much joy.

    my guys are hurting too
Shadow is/was a Daddy's Cat. He misses Pat something awful. Pringles has become my furry grey stalker whenever I'm in the house. So they miss and grieve much like me.

We are muddling through together. As long as I have Shadow, Pat will always be with me. Shadow has his Daddy's attitude :)

    Pets
I have been giving some serious thought to getting a dog, but not sure it is the right time. Pets can be such a comfort, nice to have a greeter at the door at when I get home from work. But need to be fair to the dog and not sure my schedule will allow me to give him/her the time they deserve.

I have been sleeping down the street at my mom's since Frank died but I slept at home last night because I felt bad for neglecting my cats. During the 10 months that Frank was dealing with cancer we kept the cats out of our bedroom at night, so he could sleep better. Now they are back on the bed at night with me, keeping me company.

nothing like a warm furry body to keep the bad dreams at bay. Did they stalk you as well? Mine do. Think if they could go with me everywhere they would.

Congrats on sleeping at home. How did it go?

    Trouble
Trouble, he is the cat, used to hang out primarily in Doug's office. He still spends some time in there, but now he spends more time in the living room. He and the dog seems to hang out with me more and are jealous of any attention I give to the other one. They really are company and both are clowns. I don't know what I would do without them. After my father died, my mom really doted on her dog. I didn't really understand it. Now I do. Fay

    Puppy
Well don't know if I"m nuts or not, but I bought a puppy yesterday. It's a "morkie" which is part maltese and part yorkie. She's 7 weeks old so can't actually bring her home for 2 more weeks. Went shopping this morning & spent $97 on dog stuff. Yikes! This is only the beginning, but hoping I'm going to be walking more now. Only thing is I'm not looking forward to picking up fresh "poop"!!! Oh well! Any hints about puppy training????

    warm furry bodies
Sleeping at home was okay. Waking up and having my new reality come back to me sucks wherever I am.
One of my cats is what I call a "lap ****" so whenever I sit down he is there. It is comforting.

I got a cat a month after my wife died. I bought him at a local pet store through a cat coalition. They named him “Maxwell.” I call him Maxi. But when I brought him home I noticed how large the pads were under his paws, it stood out because he was just a kitten at the time.
    So I called him…………”Maxipad.”

    Not enough time for both...
I never realized how much attention two doggies need now that I am alone. Our one guy was Todds best bud and never gave me a second thought. Now he just loves to be loved by anyone. The second guy is a big (80 lbs) baby and wants to sits right in front of you. I fell like they don't get enought love with me having to work all the time. But, I don't know where I would be without them.
