scared to death...unknown primary

I'm a 10 yr. Breast cancer survivor and in Nov. 2010 I had a gallbladder attack and had emergency surgery to have it removed. At that time surgeon noticed spot on liver and biopsyed it and it came back positive for cancer. Pathology report said breast cancer mets to liver. My oncologist wasn't buying that and got a second opinion that came back inconclusive. After numerous test and a couple biopsys I was a candidate for a liver resection, that was Jan 2011. That pathology report came back inconclisive so the slides were sent to Mayo clinic and they wont rule out breast cancer but highly unlikely they feel it maybe a bile duct cancer. Final diagnosis liver mets unknown primary. I will have blood work every six weeks and CT scans every three, months and just wait and see. Had first CT scan today after resection, see onclolgist on Wednesday to find out results. I hate not knowing. I just want to move forward but its hard. Please Help!

    Scared to Death
Hi Kim: Yikes! I can see why you are scared to death. Did they not see anything on the bile duct and was there a tumour in the gallbladder? I guess I would see if chemo could help in the meantime - just waiting doing nothing except blood tests and scans is a horrible thought. Perhaps the oncologist will have better news for you on Wednesday. I have gallbladder cancer stage IV which went into the liver so I had the gallbladder and its tumour removed plus a liver resection then chemo for 5 months (cisplatin and gemzar). But the chemo regime didn't remove nodules (seeds) that have formed on my perotineum from the gallbladder tumour so more chemo coming up (oxiciplatin plus FOLFOX).
I assume one blood test you are getting will be CA 19-9?
Let us know the results of Wednesday's meeting with the oncologist.
    Thinking of you.
