Unexplained weight loss

I had a TT in the summer of 2009. I underwent RAI this past October, 2010 in the hospital. I am currently taking levothyroxine 224mcg. My TSH is 0.3, my endo says it's right where it should be. Since last year, I have currently lost 28 lbs. I'm not complaining about the weight loss, just surprised since I was told I would gain weight since I'm now hypo. I am also diabetic. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. It's nice to know we can come here and talk about our issues.

    You're not hypo
You're slightly hyper. You would be hypo without your meds because you don't have a thyroid. They like to keep thyroid cancer patients on suppressive doses of thyroid-- which means hyper. HTH.

I haven't been able to understand why I'm losing so much weight either. I have lost 85 or more lbs and I am still losing. I was told it was the cancer. Now I'm being told, it's chemo. I don't know what to believe. But I have a problem eating as well. I can be so hungry. But when I start to eat, I can only take in one to two bites of food. I'm constantly buying new clothes and it's becoming a nuisance. Please let me know if you have found any other info. Good luck to you.

That sounds just like me too. At times I get hungry but can only take a few bites because I feel nauseous then. I have had to go out and buy new clothes also. How long has it been since you started losing weight to where you are today? What do your doctors say about that?

    Wish I could lose weight
But I'm confused, I've never had chemo. Usually they don't treat thyroid cancer with chemo. My weight has fluctuated up and down for the past 8 years, even though I work out 5-6 times a week and watch what I eat, I seem to have no control over the weight swings, like my moods, lol. I'm so frustrated I can't lost any weight and keep it off. It's just one more kick in the teeth besided having recurrent hurtle cell cancer and going on my 5th surgery and 3rd reocurrenc in 8 years. I just need a break, and if I could lose weight and keep it off, it would make all the reocurrences and surgeries a little easier to take.
