Hi, I am a 44 year old woman who had RCC on 2004, had a partial nephroctomy of my right kidney. @ that time they also dicovered that I had a few cysts in the left kidney too, that is why they did not removed the whole kidney. last year's ultrasound discovered a "mildly complex" cyst in my left kidney and since this year's appointment is coming up I would like to know if the mildly complex cyst could be cancer. You know last time when it happened everything was so fast and I really remembered it as a dream... a very painfull dream. it all seem not real now. my children are terrified even when i really try not to show any fear and i dont shared with them anything but that everything is ok but they were very young last time and it really was very hard on all of us. I know I can do it again, but I just want to know what are the chances of this cyst to become cancer. any ideas? thank God for this site and God bless you all.

    Hopefully not
Only your doctors can determine if it is Cancer or could become Cancer. These type of cysts can be cancer and the chance of them being cancer depends on their size. If you have been watched every year hopefully this can be taken care of before it becomes of the size that would make cancer likely and before any problems develope.

    Wishing you the best
I'm so new to this, I can't offer much advice. I had my right kidney removed last month. The tumor was discovered on accident during a scan of my spine. I can relate to your description of it feeling like a whirlwind. It was recent for me and it seems like a dream already.
I can sense how afraid you are from your post. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Even if this turns out to be just a scare, it is stressful for you and your family.
I really just wanted to let you know that I wish you peace and all the best as you go through this. I'll try to watch for your update post, and I hope it is good news.
    Sincerely,

    thank you!!
Mhamby, I am going next week for an US and an appt with my Dr. I've been reading a lot and I have several questions for him. I've read in this forum that many have this kinds of cysts removed anyways, my cyst was only 1.2x 1.0 x.9 cm last year hopefully did not grow in all of this time, but I'll let you know. My family doesnt know of this cyst but I really appreciate your concern and understanding. Hope everything is well with you.

    Small is better
    Karmenpos,

Glad to hear that your cyst is fairly small. That increases the options available to your doctors. Cysts are not that uncommon and does not necessairally mean that you have Kidney Cancer.

    Best wishes Icemantoo
