Just had my first yearly cytoscope today NO TUMORS. Still have microscopic blood in pee test but dr said some people hv that w/ no underlining problem. Thank goodness I hate cytoscopes they hurt.

    My first Cytoscope
I just had mine Feb 1.I had blood in my urine since July 2010.Back and forth from Family doctor to urologist and then to another urologist in just a few short months. My cytoscope in Feb 2011 there were no tumors. So I felt good but a CT scan I had Jan 2010 I was told I had kidney stones. Urologist didn't tell me how many??? But said I needed to get another CT scan.Well I have breast cancer and no way do I want more radiation in my body.I was a lucky one and didn't have to have the radation treatment but sure don't want all those radiation tests if I can get away with it.In fact my friend(16 year breast cancer survivor) is never offered radiation tests by her docs but gets MRI's or Ultrasound. Why can't I???

Found another urologist to skip the CT scan.He did a KUB(low radiation) and checked the CT scan.I had 8 kidney stones with the scan done Jan 2010.I was never told from any doctor I had stones for a year and then suddenly blood and then tests start.Just Friday the new urolgist gave me my KUB results. I now have 4 stones down from 8 in the beginning (Jan 2010).I passed 4 along the way the last year.I know of one because of the pain and possibly 2 others because of pressure.

Just been such a hassle and a big worry about poss having kidney or bladder cancer after the breast cancer.Still I don't need that part of my body pumped with radiation IMO.

I am so happy your test said no cancer.I came on this board because of all I have been through with my kidneys and bladder and I worry about cancer. I want rid of these stones and no more tests for sometime. Also was told I have a kidney cyst. But the urologist said with my age(Over 60) they are common.Nice to know.I GUESS

Just a roller coaster through it all.

Hi Lynn I had dcis back in
Hi Lynn I had dcis back in 2005 drs gave me option of having radiation. I choose not to just in case I get cancer again in that breast I wanted to be able to hv it then esp. since my dcis was low grade. I had a polp in my bladder had surgery and thank goodness it was not cancer. I hv a lump on my shoulder that i had an xray on didnt show anything and even though it really hasnt grown and drs think its a lipoma I saw a surgeon who had me get an ultrasound I called to him back to have it removed hes on vacation till 4/01. Office said they call me in a week or so but they clld me back same day and said he wnts to see me first but she set up a longer appt. in case he wnts to remove it (he told me he clld remove in office). So of course I a little worried so I got my results of US. It statesill defined hyperechoic focus in th esubcutaneous tissues could represent a lipoma although other etiologies cannot be excluded. So of course I look online and a lipoma usually hyper or isoechoic and sometimes can have margins that blend into the fat tissues so I'm not that worried now but still just wnt to get it remove and tested.

we've been through some same things
I am like you for breast cancer(DCIS) Doctor told me I didn't need chemo or radiation.Just tamoxifin. Hey that slight trace of blood in my urine scared me and to beat it all I never knew it till months later and never knew what the whole thing was for a year later. I was in the dark. Then changed doctors.Glad to see your doc does ultrasounds.Mine say no so I will go till I find doctors that will do them. The thoughts of radiation terrifies me.Should any cancer patient.Radiation causes cancer if you read about it.I think my doctors have no idea I read about things when they say they want to do something.Got a friend the same way.We compare and she is a 16 year survivor with Stage 3 invasive cancer. There is hope for us.

I am supposed to go back in 6 months for another KUB.Still that radiation thing worries me.I can't help it.My friend has never had any tests till recently and her doctors said ultrasound.IMO I don't need the worry of all these tests with radiation.Last year if I had read on that test before ER did it I would have refused it. There are other ways to check for things.

If I were you I would want that thing gone if I needed to find another doctor. You should not have to wait IMO.You need it checked, removed and tested ASAP.

Nice to meet you.Sounds like we are in the same boat.BC and bladder problems.

I am now thinking about getting some moles removed. My friend gets her removed all the tme.She wants none. She says they are nothing but a cancer worry.I have to agree.
