Scan update-good news

Greetings all!

Good news on all fronts.

My husband's sister and niece drove him home from Ft Collins, CO to Wyoming on Wednesday and settled him in nicely with a recliner in front of the fireplace and air mattress on a futon in spare bedroom. He's healing well albeit slowly as the swollen disc (discitis) takes it time. The infection is being well controlled with the IV antibiotics and he will be on that another week or so. Today he trundled off with cowboy hat on, light coat, and cane to the barn to get the battery charger (not heavy) for one of the cars. The border collie was delighted to accompany him.

My Thursday visit to the radiation oncologist went well too. The lung CT scan only shows the remnants of one of the four lung nodules that was zapped by the stereotactic radiation treatment at the end of January. I am officially in remission, or NED (no evidence of disease) * . The asterisk means that the remnant is being watched per protocol.

Sweet!

I will have my check-up with my GI surgeon at the Huntsman in SLC on June 2 as well as another PET/CT. Bloodwork (WBC, RBC) continues to be monitored because I still receive IV high dose Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) infusions twice/week and that does have some effect on the counts. I'm also continuing with IV mistletoe (Iscador) once a week. The tx plan is to keep doing these infusions for a year (several clean scans).

The most enjoyable moment I had with my doc was when he asked me how I was feeling and I told him that my strength coach had declared me 100% a couple of weeks ago; that the radiation tx was just a small blip for me. I said that was a mixed blessing since it meant heavier weights. My doc, who has recently married a strength coach and also has been working out, said, as he knowingly shook his head with a tired look, "Yah, you think you're doing really well.....". He encouraged me to keep lifting.

So how marvelous this spring of 2011 for me right now, and my prayers go out for the people of Japan.

all the best to you all, Leslie

Grandame moses you are true inspiration
    Hi NED,

Just great news, I know all the stage 4 out their read this know you raised their hopes. Yek you raised my hopes as well.

Here NED is a common first name , the most famous being NED KELLY he was a bushranger, he had a fiercesome gang. They were terribly successful bush rangers and bandits. So I think we have have them here the "NED gang" they were brave and daring and did what they wanted and snubbed authority when they wanted. they had fun, to much bad fun right up to the end when they were shot. they died fast doing what they wanted and may have ended up downstairs ie hell as thye were a bit nasty. Now that were the similarities end.

My NED gang that I know here is so brave and great role models for our nervous stage stage 3.

    love to you all,

    Pete
ps I am on dex again so don't hold my posts against me.
