I'm glad you got your results so that you can move forward. It's always scary when you change plans, but I think you will do great. The plan sounds well thought out. I hope it works wonders.

Sounds like you got a mixed bag of results, and it has you worried. I'm praying you won't have the horrible rash, and that you will see only positive results.

    Hang in there!
    Anne,

I am taking Erbitux and have had three treatments with it so far. I am taking an antibiotic that is helping a lot with the rash. It is very mild right now. Load up on moisturizers because it really dries out the skin.

Hope you have great results with this treatment.

    Hugs,
    Sara

    Thanks Sara
Those are good tips. Did you take the antibiotics right from the beginning of treatment? Do you take the antibiotics orally or by IV? Are you on anything else besides erbitux? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for your good wishes; I want to wish you good results too. Hugs right back to you!

    Anne,
You right to look at the new treatment as a new opportunity. Maybe the Erbitux is the one that will kick cancers a$$. Hoping for very good results for you.

    Aloha,
    Kathleen

Sounds like you oncologist has a good plan for you. I hope that the new combination works well for you with minimum side effects. It is hard to wait so long for CT results. Two weeks is a long time. It's great that you had overall news. Keeping you in my thoughts Anne.

    Thanks Amy!

    GOOD!!!
    Dear Anne,

I'm so so happy to know that the CT scan was not bad! My friend who fights this for more than 10 years and she keeps telling me that as long as there is a plan for you, it will be fine. You never know when the new drugs come out! I will pray for your good respond to the new regimen and with minimal side effects!

Moisturizer helps my mum to minimize her hand and foot pain from oxaliplatin, so just a small reminder that you need to put on moisturizer as often as possible.

All my best wishes to you!
    Dora

p.s. Like what Craig said, your support to me help me to go through the toughest first 4 months since my mum was diagnosed. I really appreciate your kind words all the time and speedy respond to my post! (^^)\

    Dear Anne
Sorry that the scan results were not better, but also very glad they were not worse.

I am praying that the change up in the chemo will work wonders for you and that you have little to no rash to deal with. If you do, you might want to try coco butter. As a tot my son got into a sand flea nest and his legs were bitten up something awful. And of course he didn't understand that you aren't supposed to scratch them. Nightly treatments of coco butter really helped with the scabbing and the scars.

I hope that you can find something like meditation or yoga to help with the stress management. If you find something which works for you, be sure to let us know as we are all in the same stress mess.

    Hugs to you my friend,

I'll be praying you get the results you need from the new cocktail Anne. Jim wasn't able to do the Erbitux. He had a reaction to it so he's on irinotican and avastin. We are getting scans done today and Monday so we'll know soon if it's helping. Just keep doing the "next thing" that's all any of us can do.

So glad your scan has showed a decrease in some areas. As some have said maybe the new chemo is a blessing in disguise, and it might be the right one for you. Sending you love and hugs from across the pond.

    Hi Anne:
Well your scan sounds like good news with a little sad news, I think this is kinda what you expected. I was so hoping it would be all good news with things shrinking and/or staying stable and not a mixed bag.

George is on weekly chemo now but has not had the Erbitux chemo yet. They are doing the KRAS test now in case he has to move to that.

When you sign in go to the search box and put in Erbitux and you can see the old discussions and what people did to stay ahead of the rash. I think it is Phil that has been on this chemo for some time and he might be a good source of info on the rash and what works and what doesn't work.

Best wishes and hugs - Tina

    Hi Tina
Thanks for your best wishes + hugs. I think of my results as what I expected; not as good as I hoped for + not as bad as I feared. I did PM Phil + he has responded with lots of helpful comments. I think of you + George often + I hope his KRAS test comes out the "good" way; it is nice to have that option if needed. Hugs back to you!

Sorry that the news wasn't better for you but it does seem that there has been some good improvement so that is a very positive thing. Maybe switching you to the new chemo will even be a better weapon for those pesky cells. Getting anxiety better under control is always a problem and if you or your doctor can make magic and have it happen I'd love to know about it. That is very common and one that is expected. Hope you are feeling less anxious now. Hoping this new chemo works good for you.
