    New Here
Age 47, diagonsed December 2010. Stage iv rectal cancer with two small mets to the right lung. The mets were both less than one centimeter and were removed January 2011 via a VATS procedure. Just started my first chemotherapy on February 8th. Scheduled for 6 treatments then evaluate to resect primary rectal tumor. Still can't believe all of this. I'm sure I will learn from everyone as I travel down this path!

    Hey Dean
Kevin here, diagnosed Dec 2010 with Stage 3 Colon Cancer (2 of 14 nodes and a clean CT scan)... CEA went up after surgery, MRI showed that it actually made it to the liver. Oops, make that Stage 4. Starting chemo today. Will be thinking about you (and all the rest of you good people), you'll do well if you stay positive and love life. Nice idea Buzz man.

    Hi Schnauzerheads:
Hubby George diagnosed 3/09, Stage IV, mets (lots) to liver and lungs. Currently on second protocol of chemo (yuk).

Hang in there, chemo is not easy but very doable. I see you start chemo today, wishing you nothing but the best outcome. If you are starting Folfox, most have a very good response to this protocol.

Any questions about treatment and side effects just start a new thread and board will jump in with their experiences.

Take Care and Hang In There - Tina

    Hi Tina,
I think of you and George often and hope the second chemo mix is working well.

Chris, my husband, was diagnosed with stage 4 in March of 2009. His liver met near the hepatic artery is not resectable & he is on Erbitux, CPT11 & avastin. Everything is stable & we are grateful for everyday. I feel blessed that Chris feels well and can continue to live a somewhat 'normal' lifestyle.

Thoughts and Prayers to you Donna
I am a patient, starting my first chemo treatment on Monday. I am 30 years old dealing with a reoccurance of a rare appendix carcinoid. They staged my first occurance as a stage II colon cancer.

I am thinking of you and your husband and sending much love and prayers your way! I pray for a speedy recovery for your husband. I pray for God to give you strength and comfort during this difficult journey.

    Love and prayers,
    Tausha

My name is Barb. I was diagnosed with stage 3C Colon Cancer about a year ago. I have had a sigmoid colectomy and went through 12 rounds of Folfox. I am currently having CT Scans, blood work and the dreaded colonoscopy to see how things are going.

Tausha....I have been thinking about you so much these past few days. Please know that tomorrow will be much easier than you are imaging. Bring a blanket, try to relax!

Is that your beautiful daughter in the photo? You both look so pretty!

Will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

    Take Care,

    Love
