ommaya reservoir

in Lymphoma (Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin) #1
I had an ommaya reservoir placed in my head in 1992 as a means to treat my spinal cord and brain with chemotherapy. I had a lot of problems with it after it was placed and it was finally removed a year later after I experienced seizures and swelling on my brain. It has been almost 18 years since I had the reservoir removed and the area around where the reservoir was is still very tender and I get shooting pains in my head and behind my eye on the side of my head where it was located. I have gone to several doctors who no nothing about the reservoir and basically tell me that I'm complaining about nothing. Has anyone had any problems like I am experiencing??? Or is there anyone out there who had an ommaya reservoir at all?

    If you look up in the right hand corner of the screen you will see a place that says Search CSN Content and Search CSN Members...click on Search CSN Content.When the search page comes up type in ommaya reservoir and you will see a large list of people talking about their experience on this subject.
