We have heard your feedback, as well as input from individuals who have chosen not to use the platform, and it has helped guide our evaluation of the online community.

Over the past several years, usage and participation has steadily decreased. To meet the expectations of today’s online communities, additional resources and more advanced capabilities are needed to improve the user experience and maintain the level of trust and support constituents expect from an American Cancer Society program.

With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the Cancer Survivors Network on May 28, 2026, but support for people impacted by cancer is not going away. Through the ACS CARES mobile app, people with cancer and caregivers can access personalized cancer information and virtually connect with trained peer support volunteers who share the same cancer experience and background. Also, survivors and caregivers interested in providing support to others can sign up to volunteer for ACS CARES through the Volunteer Community.
