Dirty Bombshell: From Thyroid Cancer Back to Fabulous!

Type:
Book
Description:

When I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, I tried seeking out books on the subject. I was a bit disappointed to learn that there wasn't a whole bunch of written information to choose from. However, I found Lorna Brunelle's "Dirty Bombshell: From Thyroid Cancer Back to Fabulous!" book truly invaluable. It has valuable information, light humor, dark humor, poignant reflections, and everything in between! In 2 weeks I'll be receiving my I-131 radioactive treatment and I'm happy to say that I am less afraid and more informed than I was before reading this book. Lorna's eloquent ability to chronicle all of her fears, vulnerabilities, and experiences in this book has made thyroid cancer a lot less intimidating. Thank you, Lorna and God bless!

Choose to live

Type:
Book
Description:

I' ve been a cancer servivor for almost 5 years. Both my saliva and Thyroid glands function at about 10% so I'm on medication for this, my hearing and eyesight on my left side are deminished, my ear is constantly full of fluid, which I had a mastoidectomy performed on that didn't work. My immune system sucks. I've had a very painful bout with shingles, which I've been told I could have again in a couple of years. Needless to say I'm not a very "happycamper". But this book was recommended to me by my doctor, and it has helped me change my outlook on my life. I've accepted that this is not the smae body that I've known for the last 51 years and I'm learning to live with that

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOPE:

Type:
Book
Description:

This little book, There's No Place Like Hope, was a huge comfort to me. It was written by a health care provider who was stricken with cancer and it is written in short easy to read sections. The humor in it will only be recognized by those of us in the trenches. I have given it to many friends who have faced the same diagnosis I did and some made it to the other side and some lost the battle. I have to think that this small book maybe brought a smile to their face while they were reading it.
