Bernie Seigel was a surgeon at Yale New Haven Hospital and has been an author of many books and audio CDs such as "Love, Medicine, and Miracles". He began spreading his message of love and healing during the 1980s. He continues to write and also hold seminars for cancer patients and medical professionals.

I am an extremely proud, yet incredibly angry, 28-year-old cancer survivor. I think it's important to write about the dark side of illness. Not ALL survivors are happy and determined and full of smiles. Sometimes, it's okay to say "FU@K YOU" to cancer, life, and even God.

I'm not enlightened and don't know the answer to happiness. Right now I only know rawness, anger, and my honest, gut reactions to events beyond my control.

This book chronicles my journey, as a wife and mother of three young sons, through two bouts with breast cancer. I relate how I was able to juggle a full-time professional job with treatments and parenting. Included are chapters on beauty tips, journaling, support groups, how to relate to cancer survivors, and the particularly demanding challenges of lymphedema, a little-known complication of breast cancer surgery and/or radiation.

I am an early retireee who reads a lot, writes some, travels a little, consults occasionally and cooks when I can't avoid.
