Anticancer: A New Way of Life

Type:
Book
Description:

Dr. Servan-Schreiber shares his personal journey through diagnosis and treatment of brain cancer. Proposing that all people have dormant cancer cells, Dr. Schreiber identifies and describes changes that can make a difference in caring for our "terrain:"

* Protecting Oneself (avoidance of chemicals, environmental and others)
* Diet (Mediterranean diet)
* Activity
* Meditation
* Freeing Oneself From Feelings of Powerlessness and Helplessness

I read this book in one sitting. Some of the science was hard to comprehend initially, but with careful reading (and maybe some re-reading!), it is understandable to laypeople. While it would be easy to take a shortcut and read/utilize only the glossy pages in the center of the book, I recommend reading all of it. There are some lovely and transcendant moments describing acts of great courage and strength. Plus, you'd never get to read about Mighty Mouse #6! :)
