Hi Tim-  I was just diagnosed

Hi Tim-  I was just diagnosed with stage III SRCC.  When I was given my diagnosis, they said "We dont know much and what we do know we had to Google."  Not super reassuring.  My surgeries were and appendectomy (where we believe it began) and a partial colectomy.  I just got my chemo port yesterday.  I am supposed to begin FOLFOX soon, but am getting 2nd opinion.  I sure hope your wifes experience is going as best it can.  I now how rough it is and I am thankful for my boyfriend, family and friends.  Thank you for posting.  Please reach out anytime.  -Alicia

If appendix may be origin, you need appendix cancer expert

I have a friend who is a 15 year survivor of SRCC of the appendix, and only because she was treated by an appendix cancer specialist.  I, too, have appendix cancer (stage 4), and am a 10 year survivor, tho mine is not Signet.  YOU MUST GET AN EXPERT!  This is treated differently from colon cancer, as Intraperitoneal Chemo is a standard protocol for this, but is not commonly done except by the experts.  Private Message me and I may be able to help you find someone.  Not all major cancer centers have experts.  I go to Sloan Kettering.  MD Anderson has experts as do a dozen other cancer hospitals throughout the US.
