Atrophic Pancreas might be a good name for a band, but not, I think a reassuring description of an organ in ones body. The Abscopal Effect (another great band name,), which should have left my body cancer free, hasn’t. My main met, ‘Luke’ (Offspring of my original 10cm Tumour, Darth) has reduced in size from 6.5 to 5.1cm. A newly discussed met has increased from 1.3 to 2.5 (must be Leia) and another has grown from 9 – 12mm (Anakin?) and surrounded by other tiny lesions. PS I really need new names for my lumps, they’re getting too heroic and cute. (Maybe I should have started with Pelops now THERE’S a dysfunctional family). I’ve got ‘septal thickening’ (no idea) ‘Groundglass opacity’ in my lungs, which I recognize as pneumonia Pleural thickening, which I remember from pleurisy Lots seem to be calcified, heart, abdominal Aorta Overall, says the report there is ‘an increased burden of disease’ Not what I wanted, hoped for, nor expected

Sorry. Computer seems to have gone insane.

But luckily after I had said all I wanted to say. Not that I wanted, hoped for or expected.

Certainly not the best of news.

From your profile, it looks like you'be been moving through the list of available chemo drugs. Do these results mean moving to the next drug in the list?

    Probably

I'm staying on Nivo for a while. Then probably onto Carbo. I've still got the radiation in me so we'll probably stay as we are until Christmas. Have another scan and then decide what to do.

When I do finally shuffle of this mortal coil they'll be able to cut me up and sell me as Chemistry sets.

    Nivo still working

Could be, and apparently I'm still full of radiation. So I stay on Nivo (could be doing good, not doing harm)until at least december when I will no longer be irradiated and I get another scan.

Its the pleurisy and pneumonia I'm most worried about. I had it this time last year and it nearly did for me.

I'm sorry the drug didn't work as well as the hoped for. I hope the radiation helps more effectively. By the way I do admire your strong will and sense of humor. Sure, it helps

    Love you

Plan for next step sounds good

I've heard good things about cabo. It might become a first line treatment some day. Until then, hope they can get you something for that pneumonia. If not, a couple shots of tequila never hurt anyone!!!

    Foots:

I sure was hoping for better results, Foots.  Q: do the doctors feel that the Abscopal Effect
did not work or is the verdict still out?  As you state, there is still a lot of radiation in your system, so could the treatment still prove to be effective?  I know you are very confident in the team of doctors that you are working with and I'm glad they are looking ahead and developing a plan.  Fingers are crossed and prayers are being said.

Not what I was hoping for you

I'm going to be a hold out.  Hoping the lasting effects from radiation etc. to prove helpful in restoring your health.

    God bless you man.

    Love you,

    Donna~

    Best wishes

I am sorry to hear the update, if we look at the changes in terms of total tumour volume, it has decreased. Hope the treatment will show a better result.

    Please take care, Carmen

    The verdict is still out.

But the Jurors are impatiently waiting for Henry Fonda to finish. Still their original hypothesis is looking shakey.

    Damn Damn

I wanted to expound on that subject, but sure the words I need to use would result in my post getting removed and possibly getting me blocked.

This cursed disease just sucks and I hate you (and the rest of us) is having to deal with this "you know what". I'm really having to hold back on the bad words today.

    *deep breath*

Wish you well and suggest that as long as we're breathing there's hope. I believe this.

    Hugs,

    Todd

Very disappointed in your news, Stomps. However since we are in the Star Wars theme....there are many sequels in the works! Hang in there....hoping the lung stuff doesn't develop too far.

You are one amazing, strong man. The dark side shouldn't even try reckoning with you!

    Big hugs

    So what?

Foots, you have more time. There is improvement. Great. Other tumors, maybe not so much. But I bet it is tumor flare up. I took the chance and in the long run I wasn't worse off waiting 6 months to discontinue nivo. I'm not fully convinced I shouldn't have stayed with it longer. Patience grasshopper.
