It is Nov 6.  It looks like

It is Nov 6.  It looks like it will be "cool" - 50's.  I have a great friend I work with who has a rare pulomonary disease and we always support eachother's causes.  We always say, "We walk because we know there are people who can't".  When we say "can't" it is because of treatment, recovery, or sadly because we have lost them.  The "look" we give eachother says it all.  I am always touched by everyone who supports my team.

Hopefully it isn't going too be windy!

I am taking the free course

I am taking the free course this year.  It is supposed to be for Ovarian but I think our agressive cancers are on par with that one.  I have my nice, new sign for the walk :)

So No Time do you live near Washington, DC? Also, do you have a group and what is it called? I've been on that site and would like to contribute. I would love to attend that walk someday myself.

    Ok, let's try this again...

Ok, let's try this again....it timed out...sorry for the late reply to you ladies!

Cindy, the course is Saturday and they are still inviting people.  If you go to this site and scroll down you will see you can sign up: http://endwomenscancer.org/

Becca, I took the artwork from the site, took it to a local FastSigns and in a few days for $50 - boom!  It is on both sides and corrugated plastic.

Soup, my team is Team ELLENator/Friends of Tranette.  Tranette is my beautifully, talented friend I lost to cervical cancer this year.

There is another young woman I met at the race and the first time I went to the course I met another UPSC woman from the boards.  If anyone can make it - just look for my sign! :)

What a glorious day it was in

What a glorious day it was in DC for the walk this year.

When I got done going through TSA on my flight to DC on Saturday a man walked up to me and said he didn't know there was a race like this.  I told him yes and he said he was on his way to see his mother who has terminal endometrial cancer.  We both had tears in our eyes.

I met a woman who work for Johns Hopkins and is in clinical trials as she has Stage 4 endometrial trial.

One of the runners, Rebecca, was in a recurrence and throwing Doxil and Avastin at it.

I took the course on Saturday and did learn some interesting things I will share someday.

I saw (again) one of our sisters from this board and she is looking FABULOUS!!!!

Below is a sign honoring my beautiful friend, Tranette.  Every year I put names on this wall.  I am tired of losing friends.

God bless the warriors - both the researchers and cancer patients.

Thank you so much for representing us all! It's wonderful to learn about the people you met and their stories. Hoping that someday this type of walk will no longer be needed...

Wish I had seen this one

Wish I had seen this one earlier!  I certainly would have signed up - especially with my sister just being diagnosed too. She living in Baltimore so it would have been perfect. We will have to add it to the calendar for next year for sure!
