in Colorectal Cancer #1

I just found out through facebook that our friend Patty Smith has passed away. I don't remember what her CSN user name was; maybe someone else will remember.

She had only recenty begun being active again on fb, and she never whispered a peep about being sick again; if that is, in fact, what took her. I've noticed that happens a lot. They post like everything's normal, and the next thing you know, their loved ones are posting an announcement. It's just too sad.

    Patty has not logged in here for almost 2 years, but she was a very faithful poster before that.

    Her user name was Patteee.

    It is so difficult to keep in touch when folks stop posting.  Glad that you were her FB friend and are able to let us know.

    May peace be with her and her family.

    Thanks you Krista for sharing the sad news, and Lovekitties for posting her user name. I certainly remember her, and I'm so very sad to hear that she has passed on.  My thoughts are with her family and friends.

    Patty beat cancer.  She died of a heart attack and stroke.

    Thank you for the update.

    I am glad the Cancer didn't take her, but still sad that she had to go, and still so young. 

    Do you know when she passed? I will keep in my record for the memorial (and end of year) thread.

    I don't remember her but I'm sorry she's gone. Good for her for beating cancer and passing from something else that was likely rather quick. I think maybe that's my goal. I have to die some time like we all do but I don't want it to be cancer that gets me. It's taken enough, I don't want it to take that last of me.

    I wasn't sure. That's so sad to beat cancer and still die young. I agree that it's at least a blessing she didn't have to linger and suffer.

    so sorry to read about

    so sorry to read about another fellow cancer survivor passing at a too young age. Another part of our reality that we have to acknowledge Is that the battle against cancer (chemo, surgery, radiation, too many scans and drugs, etc) does have a huge impact on our health. And if we add other factors, like obesity in my own case, we really are at risk for other non-cancer issues. All I can do is PRAY that I might be able to loose some weight and that my body might slowly and surly heal from the negative impacts of the chemo and surgeries. And that I will ALWAYS remember that every moment on this wonderful planet is truly a gift from God. Today will be a very good day for me. Dedicated to Patty. Love and Light to Patty and each of you that read this post. Wrapping my arms around you for a virtual reality bear hug.  :-)

    Wow, life is crazy.  I often make the comment that I'll be so angry if I did all of this to survive, just to get hit by a bus before I'm 50.  It's the old, I could get hit by a bus and die right now cliche that we all hate.  Fly with the angels Pateee.  Life just wasn't fair to you at all.
