Jaw Pain

Has anyone experienced jaw and ear pain post treatments? I had stage 4 tonsil cancer with chemo and radiation as the treatment. Last treatment was April 5. This pain develvoped several months ago in my ear area and jaw. It is a radiating, throbbing type of pain with constant pain to the touch on the outside of my jaw. The doctor calls it referred pain from the radiation. My meds are Dilaudid and Gabapentin. These help some, but a cup of hot coffee seems to relieve the pain better than anything. Maybe it is the caffine that helps. I have an appointment with a Neurologists this week. Hope he can help out. Anyone have any experience that can give advice?

Time seems to be the only

Time seems to be the only thing that makes a diference. Its been a little over a year and most of the pain is gone so that I dont notice it as often. Being well rested made a difference. Yawning for some reason created a great deal of pain.

    Pain pain go away

Jaw and ear pain, all a part of my new normal. I take Nucynta every day for the pain and it does help to get through the day. I do whatever I need to do to try and be as normal as I can.

    Same boat

2 1/2 months out of treatment, ear pain is bad, but seems worse at night after I drink water, jaw pain is manageable after Tylenol...  They tried steroids on me and ear pain went away, came back about 10 days after I took the last steroid...
