    Immunotherapy and endometrial cancer?

After reading two articles this week on immune therapy research, I've started doing some research on the current status of this kind of research and endometrial cancer in particular. What I've seen so far suggests that not much clinical research has been done, but that USC is considered a promising area for research because of the aggressiveness of the disease and limited alternatives to chemotherapy.

If anyone has done more reading on this or has experience with clinical trials, I'd be interested in hearing what you know about the current state of the field.

    Compassionate Use

Hi Becca, my understanding is that the manufacturers are providing immunotherapies to endometrial cancer patients under the compassionate use exemption outside of clinical trials. Kim

    I am on immunotherapy now

I am on immunotherapy now under the compassionate use program.  Keytruda from Merck.  You have to qualify by finances and a few other things, like being platinum resistant and have been on several other chemo treatments.  I have almost no side effects so for.  It will be quite a while before we know if it is working.  I have had 2 treatments so far.

    Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

    Immunotherapy

Hi, Lou Ann...after 5+ years of chemo, my sister is hitting a roadblock. Her diagnosis was UPSC stage IVB, but it has been referred to and treated as ovarian cancer. After an emergency appendectomy revealed a cancerous tumor and a subsequent CT scan revealed 5 spots to small to biopsy on her liver, her local oncologist said they will look into immunotherapy, but she's on vacation this week (her lack of follow up is par for the course). Unfortunately, her  prime oncologist from MDA was out of the country. He should be back by now. I just want someone to get this ball rolling.

I just asked about this to my

I just asked about this to my (new) doc at Massachsetts General Hospital.  He said I would be eligible but only after other chemo treatments are no longer working.  I should add that MGH is doing clinical trials with this drug, and someone I know at MERCK reccommended that I ask about it for my UPSC.

I am being tested for the HER

I am being tested for the HER 2 and will be treated with the therapy in this article if I show an overabundance of it.  If I do, I will be glad to report on it.
