RCC causing Hyperparathyroidism?

Hi guys, Have any of you had a parathyroid gland issue clear up after removing your Renal Cell Carcinoma? I was scheduled for parathyroid surgery due to elevated PTH (diagnosed primary hyperparathyroidism) and now that I had my partial nephrectomy 3 months ago, my PTH levels are back to normal levels! My endocrinologist said he has seen it happen before. The RCC produces a parathyroid hormone mimic. Also, my hypothyroidism corrected itself after surgey also. A few weeks after surgery my endocrinologist took me off of "Synthroid" because my numbers had swung to be very hyperthyroid. Now, my levels have been normal the past couple of months and I am med free! Crazy!

    Thyroid

Mine was all over the place, I now take 225mcg of L Thyroxine daily and 300 on a saturday. I dont know why. I also had an endochronologist who told me I had the bone density of a post -menopausal woman, and could not make a decision with me in the room.

    I never went back

    Oh my Footstomper!

I can't blame you for not going back there :)! Do you have to take anything for lower bone density?

Been a while since I have been on.

I was tired all the time so I called my PCP for an appt. She did a blood panel and tested for all common things that can cause that.

    #1 Was I had hyperthyroidism

    #2 Low Vit D and B12

    #3 Anemic

I am on a synthetic hormone now as well as supplements and B12 shots. I feel much better, I also take imodium AD which has nearly eliminated my chronic diahrea

I feel 100% better than I did 4 or 5 mos ago, much more active now.
