Colonoscopy hip pain

in Anal Cancer #1

So, I had a colonoscopy 3-31. I get the polyps also as well as being 5 year survivor. Anyway the had my on table two hours to remove two polyps. Still two Moe in there, but report says they did not remove due to length of time. Anyway, my left hip has been hurting ever since. I talked to nurse, doesn't have an idea why. I did have a crack on public bone they discovered on ctrl in 2012. It hurt before they found it, but just thought new normal. But this hip thing is annoying. Hurts to lay on side, pain and weakness walking short distance and sometimes foot tingles. Anyone ever have this problem?

    Hi Norma - It appears to me that you have a complication related to positioning during your colonoscopy.  Report this to the physician who did the procedure.    He should advise you further.  You could also contact Risk Management at the hospital.  I hope you feel better.

    I have begun having hip pain in the last couple of months, but it is unrelated to having a recent colonoscopy.  Your pain and discomfort sounds familiar to mine.  I cannot lie on my left side for any length of time before it begins hurting.  I have stopped running to give it time to heal and it has helped, but can still give me some discomfort.  I was diagnosed with osteopenia that eventually progressed to osteoprosis, which is a concern.  I'm happy to say that my latest DEXA scan done on 3/24/16 showed improvement in my bone density, moving my T scores back into the osteopenia range.  Have you had any DEXA scans since your treatment ended, especially since you have had a crack in your pelvic bone?

    I called the nurse, she was like I don't know. Never hurt til day after colonoscopy, so had to be position or moving me around. So, I guess I can call them again. When pelvic bone cracked I had no recall of an obvious injury. If that doesn't work with nurse, I see gyno for fu of laser cervix from December. If that doesn't work, then I will tell my oncologist, who is also treating my husband for stage 4 liver cancer. Someone will eventually hear me.

    I haven't had DEXA scan. Last pelvic scan was last June, not scheduled for another. May need to suggest it. Have had many appointments, so tired of them! Husband very ill they stopped treatment this week. So, I have a lot going on. Thanks as always!

    Side sleeper

    I always sleep on my side! And usual travel, so many types of mattresses. Haven't worked in a few months, husband too sick. So, at least I have had a consistent awesome mattress lately. No help now. It is what it is.
