    So sorry Pat

I'm sorry that you are having to go thru all this. Ask lots of questions about what to expect and maybe the doctors can allay your fears a bit. It sounds like they have a handle on what should be done for your case. You are in my prayers, Anna

    frightening but safe

Hi, I read your post and looked up hot chemo.  It appears to be safe and has advantages over traditional chemo.  It is heated and put into your abdomen after your surgery has been completed to remove tumors.  It is only done once and since most of it stays in the abdomen there are very few of the usual toxic effects of chemo.  It also allows for a more intense dose of chemo.  Please see this link:  https://www.mdanderson.org/treatment-options/hyperthermic-intraperitoneal-chemotherapy.html

Here's another, rather upbeat, link on this type of chemo:  https://www.roswellpark.org/media/news/study-results-show-low-morbidity-mortality-rates-patients-treated-hipec

I'm sure your doctors have given you all this information.  Sometimes they give so much info its hard to absorb it all!  Did you bring someone with you, take notes, or record the conversations?

I know you're scared and healing thoughts are being sent your way today and every day..you'll get through this!

    Prayers,

    Sharon

    We are with you

ppurdin, sorry you are having a rough time but I will have to say "who would not be" considering what you have been through  throughout your years and now this. We all have to think positive when we go through alot of things. I know it is easier said than done. Especially when it is been said by another person. Hope all of this is behind you soon and all of us pink sisters are with you in prayers, love, support and encouragement.  Hugs, Pixie Dust

Pat, I am sorry you have to do any chemo,

However, I am so pleased that your doctors all agree with the treatment.  My biggest frustrations have been that ea h one, rads, onco, and pain management have not been on the same page.  This makes it very hard to make an informed decision.

I continue to hope for the best.  Hugs and prayers.
