Medical ID bracelet?

Does anyone wear one of these?  My nurse suggested for me to buy one that says "NO MRI" on it.  With the amount of titanium in my face, they have my chart flagged for no MRI's but she said what if I was in a car accident or brought in unconscious?  I had never really thought about that before.  What would I put on it?  NO MRI and then my name/DOB on the back?

    Yes I do.

I would recomend it for you. I have to wear one because I am a Total Neck Breather and that is the only way I can get air. If they think is is only a trach they will put oxygen to my nose which does not work. All Drug stors have the form you can send in. Mine is from www.americanmedical-id.com I wear two of them. One is a stainless steel and it never comes off. It can but takes two hands to do it. The other is an orange band that reads Neck Breather Resuscitate Via Stoma. No one will look at it unless you are unconscious. But that is when they will look at it. However titanium is ok in a MRI

I have my name and algery to meds and my condition. I put my doctors phone number and he moved, so don't put a drctors number I also have blood type. You can get some you can write on both sides and three lines. Mine has never been off my arme in over two years, eat sleep and shower with it. For me if I am unconscious it becomes way to scarry. Hospitals don't know how to treat me and have tried to put oxygen to my nose or they just say I don't need it.  Hope this helps.

Titanium implants are MRI compatible. People with nontitanium implants should inform the radiologist or technician prior to the procedure; however, most joint implants are firmly attached inside bone and will not pose a serious problem.

    thank you!

thank you for the information!!  I wonder why the radiologist recommended a bracelet saying that for me?  I'll have to ask my surgeon when I see him for a check up next month! :)
