in Colorectal Cancer #1

My husband has chemo tomorrow and went to get his chemo pump to take with him in the morning.  Looked everywhere for it.  No where to be found.  Then he remembered he must have thrown some trash on top of the pump that was in one of those big white bags.  Well, the trash was picked up the day he got the pump off!  Who throws away their pump?? Embarassed I had to call the chemo folks to tell them he will need a new pump (bet they weren't too happy)  Wonder if we will have to pay for it?  One of those days......

    I hope he doesn't get charged for it either, they are not cheap. 

    Blame it on the chemo. 

    I had one break during the night, and called the 1-800 number and nobody answered. When I went in the next day, I had one unhappy Oncologist who immedietely called the company and told them he would not be using their equiptment any more. I also blame that on my chronic neuropathy, but that's a different story.

    I bought my own pump on craigslist since they weren’t sure if I had a daily co-pay or not. I need the pump for daily infusion of 2.5 liters a day of hydration. Brand new in the box was less than $100. The guy shipped it to me (cost $25)….  The company said it was going to be over $10 per day co-pay to rent it. This has already paid for itself 100x over.

    You can search all areas of craigslist (the world) using google:     infusion pump site:craigslist.org

    The “site:” notation after your search words points Google to just the site you want to search! If you do a lot of searching, this lil’ trick can be handy. Search Sears.com, Walmart.com, etc etc….

    I messed up my chemo pump and had to  pay  $146   for another.  My Doctor was royally ticked off at me  ;  got a reaL STERN bashing.

    John, thanks for that big tip!  I never knew about this.  Well, Tim went for chemo today and they 'seemed' to laugh it off.  Hope so anyways!

    I only ever used throw-aways,

    I only ever used throw-aways, bulbs worn on the hip, so i don't know about these hassles, and hope I only ever learn second-handedly[?]...................................Dave
