Kidney stones

OK, really painful day yesterday. I had my appendix taken out 9 years ago so that was pretty much ruled out. Pain was in lmy ower back and naturally I went to whatever organs were left cancer  spread. It was so debilitating that I went to emergency.  I never did this with anything for cancer. This must have been the first ER doctor who was shocked about the happy reaction from my wife after finding out the results of tests (x-ray, CT w/wo contrast, blood panel), when he said you have two stones in your right kidney (7mm and 1.5 mm). But gotta say that this is without a doubt the worse physical pain I've experienced after the stage 4 dx 9 years ago. Looking forward to what they say is more pain... ride to coaster... Best to all

    Sorry to hear this, Chip

My husband had the Kidney stones and was in agony. Of course, you know us women liken it to labour pains, which doesn't help when you're the one having the pain.

I hope they can break up the stone and get you to pass it without too much pain. I remember my husband sucked back the major pain killers when he was passing his.

    G'day Chip

Seems to be par for the course to develop stones after having 5fu. I had a bunch in my gall bladder. One popped out and blocked my pancreatic duct. Now that was some memorable pain a well. They removed my gall bladder but a few years later I started passing kidney stones. Mine are not calcium but uric acid. They scrape and scratch all the way out. I have been thru a full set of tsests for bladder cancer thanks to the blleding from the scratching. It was my nephrologist that dxed it as kidney stones and he commented that it is a regular occurence for colon cancer survivors, Cheers ron.
