Bone scan, muscle uptake.

in Kidney Cancer #1

Just received results from bone scan, not mets in the bones. But there was an uptake in the teres major and teres minor muscles 6cm x 4cm x 3cm any toughts on what that could be? My GP ordered a MRI to check this but didn't seemed to know a lot about it. I also have my 1 year(14 months...) ct planned for the 28th, maybe they'll see what's the problem there.

    Perhaps there's inflammation

    Perhaps there's inflammation in those muscles. Does your arm and/or shoulder giving you problems? Have you had rotator cuff injury? Hope doctor can sort it out soon so you don't stress over it.

    No pain at all, no bruises,

    No pain at all, no bruises, no injuries that I am aware of. The MRI should tell me more.

    alkaline phosphatase

    Hey Dave,

    Did they do an this an alkaline phosphatase level on you prior to this bone scan and have you been exercising prior to this test?

    Didn't have an Alkaline

    Didn't have an Alkaline phosphatase ( actually I don't know what that is) and yes I had trained 2 days prior to the scan.
