throat cysts

in Head and Neck Cancer #1

I have been trying to tell my drs that it looked like something inside of my throat was looking wierd, so I made an appt with my fabulous ENT. Seems that I have a cyst on the left side of my throat  and will have to have it removed. They will take skin from my wrist and graft it over the hole after they see if there is there is cancerous activity going on under it. It will be a 2-6 hr operation. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Scared to death!!! The surgery will be Oct 13 so please keep me in your prayers and any advise would be helpful. Thanks so much-Sharon Also the pain is unbelievable.

    Hi Sharon. Is it a brachial cleft cyst? My cousin had one repaired a few months ago and was back to normal quickly. I hope they can take care of it sooner than next week so you don't have to live with that pain. The good news is that it's not cancer!

    He didnt say what kind of cyst it is-just a cyst, to be determined at the time of surgery whether the C word is involved. He doesnt seem to think that it is tho, but the pain is much worse than when I had my tonsils out. Unbearable. Yes I wish I was able to have this taken care of before the 13th, but thats as early as they said I could have it done. I just want you to know how helpful you have been to me and that I consider you a friend. (Us Wisconsinites must sstick togather) I will let you know if I hear anything else.
