Official Chemosabe

First chemo session under my belt.  It was a long day.  Got there at 10:30, left at 5:15.  Everything went well, no allergic reaction to the carbo or taxol, which they infused at a slow rate.  Started and finished my book (HeLa).  I felt pretty normal last night so I walked around the block, had some soup and a popsicle and fell asleep in front of the TV.  So far this morning, doing ok.

So glad I got the port.  My nurse says she doesn't understand why more people don't get one as it makes the infusions so much easier.  Even though mine isn't completely healed and I didn't use the numbing cream, the discomfort was less than some of the blood draw attempts I've had in the emergency room and no big deal at all.

I do have some of the same reservations as others on this board have regarding the tearing down of the body's defenses while fighting cancer through chemo, but felt for me, this was the right decision now. I am doing what I can through diet and a few well-chosen supplements to hopefully keep my body strong and firing on as many cylinders as possible during the process.

Thanks to all on the board for your continuing support.  I know you've made the journey so far so much easier.

Chris

So glad to hear from you

Chris, Thanks for the status. I thought about you a lot yesterday!

I hope the impacts don't hit you too hard. I'm with you on the decision to go with the Chemo.

I still get some nagging doubts, but in my gut know this is the right path for me as well.

Sorry we are on this journey to begin with. But, glad to have a chemosabe partner that is right there with me to compare notes.

Moli - if you are reading this.... can you tell we love the Chemosabe name you came up with?! :-)

    Love to both of you,

    Cindi

So very happy that today found  you two in good spirit. Thanking chemo for being kind to you both, you are both going to do just fine , you'll see.Your positive attitude  is building me up  even with all this distance.

Can't take the credit for the word Chemosabe I saw it written on an old post here , I found it sounded very comradey so I stole it.

Don't want to be called out with pilfering, I have enough troubles already, but it was momentarily pleasing to know that you think I am that bright to come up with such a word on my own, big joke. Glad someone was that bright.love the word. Nuff love . Moli.
